Among the many Christmas shows this week, count in this one in Billings, Montana on Thursday evening.

Boitano, Kulik, Weiss, Meissner and among others, Weaver & Poje. Ilia and W/P would do it for me!! Unfortunately, I live on the East Coast.

I can't believe it -- I'm actually going to be near that area later this week -- I'll see if I can get down there on Thursday for the show. It sounds incredible! Why haven't I heard of this sooner?

Skateworld Inc clearly needs to do some better marketing! I hope they get a decent-sized audience (and make some good money for the charity involved).

I don't know the producer SkateWorld Inc, but they don't seem to have done a lot of PR or advertising. The good news is that there are some local children involved with a group number so parents will naturally spread the word.

Billings is my hometown and I am going home for Christmas, but because DH can't take any time off work, I will miss this by a few days! Arg!

Only if you wait for DH. ;)

I wish. If I left without DH, he just wouldn't bother to drive all the way to see my family (my mom is that kind of MIL, so let's just say going to MT is not high on his list of fun things to do), and I'd spend Christmas without him. I might sacrifice Christmas without him if it were a competition, but not for a show, even though seeing Kulik, Kimmie & W/P would be cool.

I wish I lived closer to this because I would be there in a heart beat!!! I am so excited to see that Anabelle and Cody were asked to perform in this show. I hope people get to go and take pictures or give reviews!

If I still lived in N. Wyoming, I surely would have driven the 3 hrs. to see this--like we always did to go shopping. The problem with Billings or any place in WY-MT is it's so darn inaccessible--and expensive to fly to. But sounds like a terrific show!

More local coverage about the show:

Cancer patients at heart of 'Gala on Ice' (includes video) (http://www.ktvq.com/news/cancer-patients-at-heart-of-gala-on-ice-/)

Skating in the city of Billings is nothing new for 8-time British figure skating champion and 3-time Olympic athlete Steven Cousins.

He and fellow professional skater, Felicia Beck, known for winning a bronze medal at the U.S. Junior National Championships, have held summer camps and winter sessions in the Magic City working with local youth passionate about figure skating.

According to Cousins, the idea of bringing world-class skating to Billings (the first time since the mid 1990's) is one which was hatched and almost fulfilled last year.
"The event was booked and all ready to go and the tornado ripped the Rimrock to shreds so we couldn't come," said Cousins. "We basically put it on the back burner and now it's actually here."

Here's an article from the paper (http://billingsgazette.com/entertainment/community/olympic-gold-medalist-joins-world-class-skaters-local-skaters-at/article_344b48ee-712e-5a09-82b2-888259651423.html?mode=story).

And here's something one of the news stations (http://www.ktvq.com/news/boitano-leads-skaters-in-billings-show/#!prettyPhoto[gallery]/2/) did... first video is a few interviews with Weiss, Cousins and one of the local skaters. The second video has clips of Boitano, Weiss, one of the local skaters, a group number, Cadavy (who came very close to a costume malfunction), & Langlois & Hay. The short blub under the videos say that about 3,000 attended. The capacity of the arena is about 8,000-10,000, depending on the set up, so it was by no means full. But it was pretty well-attended considering it's so close to the holidays and that it's in Montana.

It was mentioned at the bottom that they expect the show to return next year. So those that might wanna book an expensive flight to Billings next year, now you know so you can save up! :)
