Shibs get 72,61 in SD at Nationals. Feel sad for Tessa abd Scott :(

:( me too.

I haven't seen the SD from US Nationals but reading the thread is seems both Shibutani´s and Davis/White made changes to their SDs and the reactions seem favourable. Davis/White score is similar to the Grand Prix Final but it seem the Shibutani´s have really improved. The rest of the scores don't seem very inflated.

Aww Tessa and Scott, hopefully they will tweak their SD more before their next competition cuz IMO the changes to their SD isn't "favorable."

neither the free dance or the short dance benefited from inflation. mistake-filled or brilliant, the judges weren't handing out marks to tessa and scott like candy.

Its a coaching problem and its pretty obvious by now obviously we don`t know what is going on behind the scenes but it doesn`t look good for worlds this year. Anyway if they leave Shpilband at the end of the year who will they go to there aren`t many options.

You know what I was wondering that myself cuz all the other teams are in California right and one in England. IDK maybe there are other coaches besides Igor and Marina or maybe Tessa and Scott get to take a week off (I hope not lol) or maybe they've been given instructions for the week and are looking after themselves. IDK lol

ETA: Did you change your post lol cuz I responded to the one asking who was with Tessa and Scott this week. But yea I agree about their programs not getting any inflation (IDK if that's a good thing or a bad thing).

They have a third coach, Johnny Johns (sp?).

Did he have any pairs teams at Nationals this year? He may be gone as well.

Lol now I'm really curious to know who is with them and what they have been up to. Anyways iggie those pics you posted in the previous page are beautiful! And I agree with everybody about the blues FD, but for the next season I'm hoping that they do something that nobody would expect them to do (I'm not sure what that would be myself).

Ohhh! Lovely, just lovely, even at 15 and 17. Imagine what they could do with blues at 23 and 25 next year. :swoon: Talk about setting fire to the ice...

As long as Tessa and Scott don't use Blues for Klook, I'm all for them doing a blues program.

Usova/Zhulin's Blues for Klook is to this day still my most favorite figure skating program ever. I know not everyone loves the music, but I do. That said, for the fact that for me Blues for Klook=UZ, I'd rather them [V/M] pick another blues piece.

If you look at Europeans, the highest score was what 68? This is ridiculous inflation in the USA, something they should have done at Canadians IMO.

Maybe something like this!!!!

um, it's OTT dramatik blues, not the sensual kind of blues i'd want to see from v/m. i know i have always asked for a blues sd from them, but since it's not happening, i dont think even through sochi, i would love to see them do a blues fd before they retire from amateur ranks. i hope tessa would emulate how gordeeva expressed herself in vocalise and out of tears--elegant yet sensual. scott could also emulate how peizerat expressed himself in their blues cd in the 2002 olympics. hopefully another year's training will bring out more sophistication in their expression.

if not sd or fd--maybe at least a blues exhibition?

im wondering though if v/m will use blues fd, if they will use one rhythm or mix it up with other rhythms. if they will do the latter, which upbeat rhythm would you like to see them use?

65 and change for B/S. P/B had 64 and change.

after reading marina and igor comment (or rather, gush) about d/w's short dance over at icenetwork, i realized that i didn't hear either of them talk about v/m's nationals to the papers.
