And really, the "Funny Face" scene in the film is accompanied by Audrey in pre-model mode -- a more subdued, "intellectual" look. In some respects something more muted would actually serve well for the jazz sequence as well (minimal distraction from the movement, and still in keeping with the character), but it would remain to be seen how it would translate to the final third.

Scott could simply select a blue shirt and be fine. Fred is classically associated with a fancier look, but for this film he's a working photographer. A sweater vest wouldn't be a terrible choice to mimic the cardigan feel, but a couple of color tweaks to the ensemble and a more 1950s cut to the shirt would do the job pretty well, too, and require no additional discomfort.

We all know V/M love to mix things up with their costumes butI love the red dress and think this time it's absolutely perfect right off the bat. Scott's may need some fixing, agree the hair is kinda bad. However I agree that this is the least of their worries and I don't think it would make a bit of difference, if any at all. It's not like they're horrendous outfits and don't fit the program at all. Actually I must say this year the top teams in ice dance got it right early on this year re:costumes Idon't really think anyone needs a major shake up in that department which is rare.

I think this is what's been bugging me.

Scott doesn't look 1950's enough. Not just the shirt, but also the pants. Yes, I know that in spite of my dislike of the haircut, it is more a 1950's cut. I would rather he dress more 1950's and keep the hair a little longer (after all, James Dean is also 1950's and his haircut wasn't so much like what Scott is wearing, trying to be "Fred").

Since it's hard to decide what to stick Tessa in just stick Scott in this outfit:

The hair is as it should be, stick him in that nerdy outfit and with his acting it will work.

That is Scott's current costume, sans the cardigan.

I donīt think the pants are the same, needs to dump the black for grey, add some spats to his skates and suck it up and throw on a cardigan in a soft shade. But it is the outfit he was trying to copy :D.

That's nice and the colours I was picturing. He doesnīt need the jacket though, too formal.

Maybe Tessa wish him something like this, but he agree to use only white shirt and this tie

Too many pieces, too busy.

I say no jacket or sweater, only a vest or sweater-vest, if you're going for a jacket/sweater look.

I think the person who said just a different-colored shirt would be enough is right. And the pants need to be more '50s.

From Skatebuzz
Everything streamed will come from the main rink (Coliseum). We are trying to finalize what we can show in Sr, and will let everyone know.

So only one pratice :( And maybe they will show what CTV will not show :(

A street clothes look. Scott wore one for the tsn photoshoot. Blue shirt, belt, pants. It was perfect and "Fred Astaire".

the problem tessa identified in an interview regarding the costumes is that they chose such radically different parts of the movie, it's hard to costume it. the red dress looks fabulous at the beginning but doesn't do the jazz part well. the leggings would be perfect for the jazz part, but she needs a skirt and it wouldn't look right for the other parts of the dance anyway. the white wedding dress works perfectly for the wedding finale, but doesn't work in the other areas.

Maybe it would be a good idea to choose a costume that showed the character, not the story. The character is a bohemian book store clerk.
