I wish Galindo had been inducted, also (although I think the USFS thought that Michelle's induction would upstage everone else). What about a campaign next year to get him in? Congratulations to Michelle, though.

If that's the reason, it's bullsh#t in my opinion. Vote on the merit of the person's career, not on how you want to present the show.

I suppose every sport does nonsensical things with their HOF voting/inductions. Why should skating be any different?

It's obvious that they didn't induct anyone else this year simply because they want it to be Michelle in the spotlight. They want the show to be all about her and no one else. I think she earned it.

I suppose every sport does nonsensical things with their HOF voting/inductions. Why should skating be any different?I understand the added value of inducting Rudy in SJ, but he's been eligible for nearly a decade now. If they really wanted him in the HOF, why diss him for an entire decade? It seems this is not the first year they've decided there are other people more important to them than Rudy.

If Nats were in Omaha this yr or Bumble Flutz, Missouri, we wouldn't be discussing Rudy. I feel really bad for him and it would have meant a lot to him and his SJ supporters for him to be inducted there. Conversely, I can understand why they want MK to be inducted alone. According to Phil Hersh, no one else reached the 51 % to be inducted.

I am ecstatic for Michelle (what took so long?), but I feel that Rudy should have been nominated for this year as well. I hope he gets his induction honor within the next few years!

Exactly how it should be: all about Michelle.:D No one in recent history has done what Michelle has done for skating in the United States. As I always say, Michelle Kwan is US figure skating. I love Rudy a lot, but I get and appreciate why this will be all about Michelle. Her competitive career, all of the future champions she's inspired, the standard of excellence that she set that has yet to be matched...She deserves a night, scratch that, a week of praise and admiration from the USFSA. She carried the torch for so long and she deserves a huge plaque, a giant trophy, a thousand roses and a rousing chorus of "Michelle is our Kween" from the arena. :rollin:

I hope NBC or whoever's airing nationals makes sure to air the ceremony. This will definitely be the highlight of San Jose for me! I can't wait!! :swoon:

Long Live the Kween!!:cheer2::cheer2:

So excited for Michelle. Congratulations. I am also excited that my husband and I will be there to see the presentation.
