I find it actually more often used as a way to dismiss an opinion one disagrees with.

In 88 I was desperate for debi to win. Yet I don't for a second consider her "wuz robbed". But I do think Calgary had some very questionable "reputation judging".

So it's entirely possibly to think judging was questionable without feelings about your favorite's placement factoring in.

ITA. Just because someone thinks Chan's marks were too high does not make him/her a Chan hater, but on this board it's viewed that way, it seems.

Do what my Gran does, watches them skate then turns over while the marks are being given. She NEVER looks at the final result.
She say's it does not matter who won coz they are all lovely !.
