What's your pick? The poll is multiple choice, so you can vote for as many as you like.

Runners-up:

Black Eyed Peas – Just Can’t Get Enough
Nicole Scherzinger – Don’t Hold Your Breath
Pitbull – Give Me Everything

What do you mean?

Best song to make an idiot of yourself on the dancefloor?

If that's what you mean, then CURSE YOU for not including Rihanna's "We Found Love" which probably triumphs in this category, as far as I am concerned.

I agree, We Found Love was the best "disco" song of the year, judging by your meaning of disco. For those listed, I chose Moves Like Jagger.

Born this Way makes me want to shake my ass and fling glitter every time I hear it. :)

"F*ck You", "Only Girl In The World", "Dynamite" and "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" were all released in 2010. :P

I like Enrique's song, but here in Europe it has a different title and a bit different lyrics ;)

Continental Europe. Ireland and the UK it's the same title as the US (and other English speaking countries, I'd imagine). ;)

Whatever you want it to mean. :D For myself, I always thought it strange how people talk about how disco died. Disco maybe hit out for a month or two, but it's always been with us. Some call it dance music now, but so much that gets played on the radio these days is basically disco. So dust off those platform shoes and shake your groove thang!!

I got the poll options from the year-end charts of billboard.com. First, from the Dance/Club songs of the year (http://www.billboard.com/#/charts-year-end/hot-100-songs?year=2011) and then from the top 100 pop songs of the year (http://www.billboard.com/#/charts-year-end/hot-100-songs?year=2011).

Can't remember if "We Found Love" made the year-end chart or not, but many Rihanna songs did. I almost made certain poll options two-fer or three-fer's as most artists who ended up in the poll had two, three or ever four songs to make the year-end Top 100. :)

Robyn "Call Your Girlfriend" (Sultan & Ned Remix):

:shuffle:

The song has nostalgic value. I was guilty of making at least a guy or two call their girlfriends and I am a dude, so..

I was just watching the video for this with my daughter and came to this thread because I was curious to see if Robyn was one of the choices.

That video is one of my favorites for the year and also one of my favorite singles. I wish Robyn had more success in the U.S. besides what she had years and years ago.

Moves Like Jagger wins the prize for most annoying song that you absolutely CAN NOT get out of your head. Hideously catchy.

I love the Cee-Lo song but it doesn't seem very disco-y so I didn't choose it.

And YES Robyn should be on here! She is amazing

Yes, as Fred pointed out, a lot of the songs you have included were released in 2010 so they shouldn't have been featured in the poll. :lynch:

And I'm really sorry Peter but your music taste is shit. :saint:

The poll as it stands could be titled "Most annoyingly overplayed crap that is the reason why I'd rather bathe in acid than ever listen to mainstream radio". :P

Here are the best proper party songs of 2011 (in alphabetical order because I can't be arsed to rank them :P):

Beth Ditto "I Wrote The Book" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UECeJzd-G30&ob=av2e)
Chase & Status "Blind Faith" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcVYBxHEry0)
Crystal Castles "Baptism" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vStjmYxetY0) (pretty much the whole Crystal Castles (II) album is perfect to trash it out to)
Cut Copy "Take Me Over" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IobDug0Ht1g)
Friendly Fires "Live Those Days Tonight" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArfRdgi8BlE)
Gus Gus "Over" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K703vlIgens)
Katy B "Katy On A Mission" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6tHw4yIDok&ob=av2e)
Lykke Li "I Follow Rivers" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZYbEL06lEU&ob=av2e) (although you might prefer a remix to dance to)
Nicola Roberts "Beat Of My Drum" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_BG3n1q5KU&ob=av2e)
Robyn "Call Your Girlfriend" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6ImxY6hnfA&ob=av2e)
Sophie Ellis-Bextor "Revolution" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p3F1w08xAY) (as an example, the whole "Make a Scene" album is bubblegum pop perfection)
Take That "Love Love" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxEVPe7XMcs&ob=av2e)
(the last two walk a very thin line between being good songs and guilty pleasures, yes ;))

And some guilty pleasures (other than the previously mentioned "We Found Love" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tg00YEETFzg&ob=av3e)) for good measure:

Jennifer Lopez "Papi" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XbIuSLaCnk&ob=av2e)
Kayah "Za Późno" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJEk5WbPZww&ob=av2e)
Nicole Scherzinger "Don't Hold Your Breath" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4nKOzk8qbw&ob=av2e)
Nicole Scherzinger "Poison" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9joqPp3peLg&ob=av2e) (her "Killer Love" album is really shit but the uptempo songs are nice to dance to)
Robyn - Baksmälla (feat. Petter) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5pJH01_xVY)
Robyn - Party In My Head (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ir99dnctoA&ob=av2n)

Whatever you want it to mean. :D For myself, I always thought it strange how people talk about how disco died. Disco maybe hit out for a month or two, but it's always been with us. Disco is a music genre.

None of the songs you mentioned is disco. :P

That's why I asked if "songs to dance/party to" is what you meant. ;)

Can't remember if "We Found Love" made the year-end chart or not, but many Rihanna songs did.

It's one of the highest selling singles of 2011, despite having been released at the end of Q3.

Rihanna – Only Girl In The World

I love the Cee-Lo song but it doesn't seem very disco-y so I didn't choose it.
