I haven't been following the GPF circuit this season, but :( (((((Mao)))))). What a terrible thing to have happened to someone still so young.

OMG, no, this is so awful, for both Mao and Mai. :( Perhaps Mao and Mai can seek comfort and strength from Joannie Rochette, Miki Ando, and Angela Nikodinov, who all have also lost a parent. Awe, how heartbreaking!

How sad. My deepest sympathies to Asada family.

The rumor I heard might be true: Mao wanted to train in Japan and didn't want to leave home because a member of her family had a health problem. It is well known that Mao loved her mother so much and their bond was really special.

The news she couldn't make it in time to say good-bye made me cry.
