As much as I like "Elegy", I'm really warming up to "Mannish Boy". He couldn't have chosen two better programs to show his progress in the entertainment factor, but also showing his skating skills. I don't ususally like "show" programs but these are awsome. More, more, and more for next year.
Clarie, I like Mannish Boy too. First of all, the lyrics suit his coming of age .. turning 21 (boyhood to manhood). It's 'cheeky' without being crude .. in short tastefully hot! . :D

Well put Spiky Durian - I totally agree .
I agree with Clarie too both show numbers showcase his versatility and development and we are lucky to see them. I hope he retains at least one for Canadians gala.

I honestly think this is another artistic breakthrough for Patrick. He is really breathing through the choreography and taking his time to get every ounce of meaning out of each movement or series of movements. I cannot get over how mobile his upper body is...he has really opened it up. And his hands and fingers are beautiful. And he has strengthened his connection to the audience. WOW.

I remember Patrick a while ago was quoted as saying something along the lines of "When I watch my old videos, I go like "Urgh, who is that person?" My technique was so off and my artistry was terrible." And he sort of followed up on that recently by ''I think I have improved, at least that's how I see myself." I hope Patrick will get to read your post sooner or later so that he knows he is not the only one thinking he is going in the right direction.

No, it's not just you. I think so too (even though I am not Patrick's uber ;)).

Don't worry, I got that from your previous post. You don't have to be one, lauravvv :) but I think I got your other point too, Patrick Chan is just too good a skater to be ignored, no?;)

Here is a frontal view of your all-time favorite but since this is a Chan thread, I took the liberty to include a little bit of Patrick just for Clarie to see he's an adorable young man with a great smile.:D

He has nice legs (I'm a "leg gal").

 Those legs belong to a MAN.;) I notice he has calluses or abrasions from his skating boots it looks like. No wonder skaters have boot problems at times. The tender thin skin around the ankles takes a beating.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Gh_2gfQjUGQ#t=258sAs I frequent Stephane's official Twitter account, as well as 'lambiel_ru' (and I am not above looking for videos by myself too :)), I had already seen it, but thank you anyway :).

Don't think Mum Chan was too pleased with that maple leaf tatoo on his calf.

As a non-Korean, I didn't quite understand Yuna's amused reaction to how Patrick pronounced the name of that cute Korean skater because isn't his name Jin-Seo and didn't Patrick say Jin-Seo?;)

Well, he definitely can't skate to Elegie dressed in that jacket, it's just too...yellow?

I didn't hear it that well. But the main joke here is how Patrick initially fell for David Pelletier's cue that his name was 'Jim-Bo' :D.

In Korean, Jin-Seo is actually pronounced more like "Jeen-Suh" as in the sound you make when starting the word "such." To be honest, I think Yuna's reaction is too dramatic and even too quick. It was like she was just waiting for him to mess up his name, haha.

As a Korean-American, I don't expect any non-Korean speaker to be able to pronounce names like that correctly. IMO, whoever came up with the standard spelling for Korean romanization years ago was stupid. How in the world is anyone supposed to get "Suh" from "Seo"? Yuna's own name is constantly mispronounced as "Yoo-na" even though it's really pronounced "Yuh-na."

Oh yes and I really laughed my heart out along with David Wilson. Maybe Chan wouldn't have fallen for Pelletier's trick if Lambiel hadn't picked up that cue from him and passed it on to Chan and Chan felt Lambiel was this guy he could trust completely.

What confused me even more was David Wilson joining Yuna's giggling as if he were totally in the know of how Korean names should actually be pronounced.

Thank you for explaining.:)
