who do you think has the most latin feel/choreography in their SDs and why?

Alessandrina/Vaturi and Cappellini/Lanotte are the two decent ones in seniors.

The juniors Papadakis & Cizeron have the absolute best SD this season imo.

my problem with this season's latin themed sd is the rhumba cd. it doesnt look any close to being a ballroom rhumba on ice at all and thereby goes counterintuitive to the ISU's intent of having the SDs as close to being ballroom style as possible. they could've had the foresight and tweaked the cd a bit to make it look more ballroom-y and seamless with the original samba parts. if they invented the quickstep cd a few seasons ago, there's no reason for them not to be able to change the rhumba cd.

I like the characterization in Weaver and Poje's SD. They seem to really enjoy it and have fun with the latin theme.

NONE OF THE ABOVE :shuffle: Ask again when the CD is a tango.

It's really really difficult to include this CD in a real Rhumba. The Rhumba as a Compulsory is a fascinating dance, but it's not exactly what we have in mind when we talk about Rhumba.
Virtue & Moir are really good at moving their bodies. So, maybe I'd say their are the best.

I found this ISU official explanation on the Rumba and why it is faster than the traditional rhumba we know of (when I think ice dance rhumba I think of Torvill & Dean's '94 OD- that was soooooo good)

I would say so far V&M are my favourite SD.

Ditto. It's even worse than 2000 and 2006.

it seems that when the OD/SD is in latin theme, particularly when it's a samba/salsa/merengue combo, most teams struggle with it. usually the teams that tend to be successful with such theme are the italians
