How successful is the professional relationship.

I seem to recall Kiellmann's mother, Heidi, as Marina's coach, as well as Yuka Sato's parents producing good results, meanwhile maintaining a good family dynamic.

On the flip side, did any working partnerships not do so well?

The Helgesson sisters are coached by their mother and that seems to be working well. Sarah Meier was coached by her aunt and Krizstina Czako was team coached by both parents until she started going to Igor Bobrin for choreography --with much better results.

Gabriele Seyfert had a pretty good career (and she was coached by her mother).

The Reitmayers (Peter and Ivana) are coached by their mother. I think Karina Johnson is coached by her father.

Petra Burka was coached by her mother- each was a World champion. Maribel Vinson Owen coached her daughters.

Kate Charbonneau is coached by her mom Laurie. It's hard to tell if that is a good relationship or not.

Alexander Majorev is coached by his father.
Zavosin's mother coached him when he skated with Morgan Matthews.
Oda's mother is one of his coaches.
Didn't Denise Biellman's mother coach her?
I think Sarah Meier's sister was her coach.
Other sibling coaches include Rudy Galindo and Ryan Bradley at least during their last amateur year.

John Baldwin (Inoue & Baldwin) was coached by his parents as a singles skater.

I think the problem with skating parents start when the parent starts to live vicariously through their child. A parent who is a professional coach has had their own skating career and other students, so perhaps they have a more realistic perspective? Also they are not paying for coaching and probably get at least some free ice time for their child, so they have not made the huge financial investment that other skating parents have.

Denise Biellman's mom was her coach during her pro competitive days. She did pretty well, but I'm not sure how much coaching her mom actually did since Denise was already an accomplished skater during that time.

I think Sarah Meier's sister was her coach.
Meier was coached by her aunt, Eva Fehr.

Hannah Miller, the 2011 U.S. Novice champ and Milan JGP bronze medalist, is coached by her aunt, Kirsten Miller-Zisholz.

Petra Burka was coached by her mother- each was a World champion.
Ellen Burka won worlds? I don't think so. But she did coach Petra and magnuson to somewhat surprise titles, although toller was better than both of them put together :(

Danny Kwan didn't help Kwan in 2002. :P
