View Full Version : Lepistö is not competing this season

Laura Lepistö just gave an interwiew to Finnish tv, telling that she is not able to compete this season. The foot nerve injury unables her to wear skates longer than 15 minutes, she can´t practice and is in pain every day. She just needs to heal now.
On the other hand, she still thinks that the difficulties have some meaning and did not say that her career is ended. She hopes to come back, if her health allows it.

Oh what a shame... it looked so promising for her in the end of the summer (I remember seeing her skate at a gala and thinking that she really looks ready to come back).
I really hope that she heals soon and can go back to what she loves doing! All the best Laura!

That's two lost seasons for her since her world bronze. Just unfortunate!

How sad for her.
However, not surprising.
If she wishes to return in the future, I hope that she will be able to do so.

The positive thing in her life is that she is studying economics at the Aalto University, Helsinki, so she has other things to do than skating. She says that she has many doors open, but it is still so sad.:(

I'm afraid her career might be over...I hope it won't be like that.
Miss her terribly!

Aww, that sucks! :(

I was afraid this might happen after she had to withdraw after her first GP, but some posters seemed to indicate she was on the mend. :(

I always liked Laura's skating, but it's only now that she'll be out a whole season that I realized how much. :wuzrobbed

:( Sad news, even if expected.
I´ll miss her this season.
Whatever decision she takes in the future about her skating, she must feel happy with all she has achieved. I´m certainly happy I could enjoy her beautiful skating.

She's already achieved results that most skaters can only dream of but it would be so unfair if her career had to finish like this. :(
