Happy Birthday, indeed.

What a lovely young girl she is.
Pictures to treasure.

William and Kate performed their first joint engagement since William's return from the Falklands today...

Daily Mail ~ Duchess of Cambridge wears grey dress to match the weather at charity premiere... but her dazzling smile (and her pins) brighten things up (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2135095/Duchess-Cambridge-dazzles-embellished-Matthew-Williamson-dress-charity-premiere.html)

I love, *love*, LOVE her outfit!!! Not only do I love it, but I could actually make a copy of the emblishments on the collar and sleeves. Not exact, but I'd love to give it a go.

Sometimes it's a lovely thing to know how to embroider *and* also have a cache of beads for jewelry making and embroidery projects. :)

And Harry will be heading for the US next week to receive an award for his Charity work w/the Veterans in the UK.

I love Kate's dress. Just to be picky though, I do wish she would learn that shoes and bags come in colours other than black and tan. A pair of pearl grey pumps, or even sling backs, would, IMHO, really have set the dress off better than her standard black.

Today's shoes and bag were actually dark gray.

But she does know this fact. Examples:

Interestingly, Kate already did a bit of embellishing to the original design herself:

Love the back of that dress with the gold zipper!

I think her additions (and I assume she requested the designer to add them for her) actually improve the outfit. The heaviness of the jewels on the arms had to be balanced out at the neck area so she would have either had to wear a heavy necklace or do what she did which totally worked. Way to go Kate :)

I love her improvements to the dress. It also fits her better then the model. I would agree about grey shoes but she is definitely tall and slender enough to pull off a break in the line of color. She looks great as always.

I found a detail shot of the collar:

Thanks for finding that Jenny and good thing Kate did that. As someone else said, the sleeves would have just screamed if they were the only parts of the outfit w/that detailing on it. Smart move by Kate indeed.

THANK YOU!!! :D :D :D

Picture has been saved to my archives for later to give a try after I get the various beads and stones. Won't be exact, but it's going to be fun to try it. :D

So who, other than me of course, will be marking Will and Kate's first anniversary on Sunday???

Our own anniversary is on Monday, so we will be enjoying a full weekend of celebration!

We are planning an all-English menu on Sunday, and have been saving the last few eps of Downton Abbey season 2 for the occasion :)

I wish I had friends around here who understood Royal Wedding parties and didn't just look at me like I was out of my mind....

It depends on where I am Sunday. If I'm here, then I'll be popping in the DVD and lifting up a mock Cranberry Cocktail to celebrate. If I'm at my Sister's, then that will be *very* low key. As in me doing something in what's "my room" over there and not saying anything about it.

While I know my BiL would do anything for me, I also know he thinks I'm just a wee bit odd and...Yeah.

Today in Luxembourg was the Official Reception and other Official things needed done to make the HGD Guilliame and Countess Stephanie's Engagement...Well...Official. :D Such as meeting the Government and also the Grand Ducal Council to go through and do what needed done in a legal and also succession sense. Haven't seen anything yet, but will go looking momentarily.

Guilliame and his Family are related to the Dutch Royals and the Belgian Royals and are very close, if not related too, to the Swedish Royal Family. Stephanie is a Granddaughter of a Belgian Princess. Factor in this is the Wedding of the Heir to the Throne and...This had the potential to be a very, very, very BIG occasion in a few months from now. :D :D :D

Also since we're getting close to May, just thought I'd remind us all of two very big Royal Occasions coming up and fast!!

Two little Royal Ladies will be having their Christenings. Princess Estelle of Sweden, which is big as she's going to be the future Queen and I can't wait to see who her Godparents will be. The Swedish Royal Family's website has a page/site set up for Estelle's big day, but I can't seem to access it on my slower than slow connection, so haven't shared the link here. Hopefully someone else w/High Speed can give it a look see to make sure it's okay, and only my computer acting up, then share the link here w/everyone else.

Then there's Joachim and Marie's little Princess' Christening, which is huge as we'll finally find out what Her Highness' names are. Also looking forward to learning who this little lady's Godparents are and seeing who is wearing what. :D

I know one of them is May 22, but w/both dates being so close to each other, I can never remember which one is on that date. I know that'll be straightened not too long after this is posted though, so thanks in advance!! :)

Of course this is only the warm up for June and the Diamond Jubliee celebrations and then July and a certain little known Sports Festival taking place in London that no one even remotely cares about. ;) :D
