And loads of more pictures w/the article of Kate's day in Liverpool w/this Daily Mail article...

Daily Mail ~ Kate's happy Valentine's: William may be away in Falklands but there is no shortage of admirers for the Duchess of Cambridge (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2100867/Kate-Middleton-Valentines-Day-trip-Duchess-Cambridge-visit-Liverpool-childrens-hospital.html#)

Kate looks perfectly elegant as always in High Street fashions. Love the combination of the chocolate brown and black. And she seems to be really good with the kids. :)

So it appears that tomorrow the new princess will be presented to the Prime Minister and her name will be announced (http://www.examiner.com/royal-news-in-national/king-carl-xvi-gustaf-and-queen-silvia-welcome-first-grandchild).

Anyone wanna make some predix? ;)

Louise? Sibylla? Josephine? Desiree? Ulrika?

'Tis exciting! :watch:

Desiree would be beautiful (not only because my grandmother had a huge white cat:cat:) named after the King´s sister.

The first name is quite "unusual", not a traditional "royal" one, I guess. The little Swedish princess has been named Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary!! :)
All the best to Sweden's new star and her parents! :cheer2:

I like it; looks like Victoria and Daniel are following the current royal trend of picking a name they like rather than choosing a traditional first name, and she is also named after both grandmothers.

I have read that they will call her Stella within the family.

Interesting how they want to emphasize the French roots of the Kungafamilj (even though it's mostly German) instead of being Swedish. King's mother changed her name from Sibylle to Sibylla, I think Estella would have sounded more Swedish than Estelle. I love how Désirée Clary as Queen of Sweden was officially Desideria (a Latin form, I know, but sounds more Swedish). :)

I love the name. Queen Estelle has a nice ring to it. It's regal sounding without being common among royalty.

On the flip side of royal news, sadly it appears that Prince Johan Friso of the Netherlands might never fully recover from his avalanche accident (http://www.iol.co.za/news/world/prince-suffered-grave-brain-damage-1.1242474), if at all. :(

(((Princess Mabel & the little Countesses)))
(((Queen Beatrix))) :(

Very, very sad news.
However, not surprising, given what we had heard earlier.

Sending support to the Royal Family, and the people of the Netherlands.

Oh, I can't wait to share that w/my Mom tomorrow night when I call home to check in. She'll be grinning like a Cheshire cat. :D

I LOVE the name and how it's modern, but also still dignified sounding and royal. Can't wait to see the first pictures of Sweden's little Star.

Congratulations to Victoria, Daniel and both Families and Welcome to the World Little Princess!!

BTW, when I finally heard it was a Princess and both Victoria and the little one were doing fine, the next thing that popped into my brain was this little fact. How many Princesses can, in the far off future mind you, have in the Family Jewels Collection a Parure/Demi Parure that uses your Birthstone as the main gem that's shown off? I'm speaking of the Amethyst set for those wondering. It's not everyone's favourite suites of Royal Jewels, but I've always loved it, so...

Anyway, that thought did cross my mind when I realized we were getting a February Princess of Sweden. :D

Now on to sadder news...

I was watching something on BBC World News yesterday when I saw the sad news about Prince Friso on the news crawl. I was just gutted for the entire Family, but especially for those two little girls and their Mother. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of decisions and discussions are going on or being made right now by Princess Mabel and Queen Beatrix and the rest of the Family.

They and the People of the Netherlands are in my thoughts and prayers.

Exactly what I needed to see after finding out I'll need further and more extensive surgery on my left foot this afternoon. Thanks for sharing that w/us!! :)

She's adorable!!!

edited to add...Headed straight to The Royal Forums after seeing this and...

All three Official Pictures of the little Princess at the Swedish Royal Family's Official Site (http://www.kungahuset.se/kungafamiljen/aktuellahandelser/aretsaktuellahandelser/prinsessanestelleforstabilderna.5.70e7de59130bc8da 54e800020977.html)

Also, it's thought these were taken by HM the King and the little knitted sweater the little Sweetie's wearing was knitted by Queen Silvia's Mother/Estelle's Great Grandmother.

So little Estelle could be the third generation to wear that sweater. If so, I love traditions like that!!
