ppe agency ~ The Proud Daddy speaks to the Press (http://www.ppe-agency.com/show.php?zoektype=2&search=24-01-2012%20Riget)

Billed Bladet ~ The New Little Princess' Horoscope/Astrological Sign (http://www.billedbladet.dk/Kongelige/ArticleFolder/2012/1/Det%20siger%20horoskopet%20om%20Maries%20lille%20p rinsesse.aspx)

That's in Danish, but someone over at TRF gave a translation a shot and the little one's a Double Aquarius.

Still haven't come up w/a nickname for the little one over at TRF, since we won't know her name until the Christening, but considering what else happened this year to the Danish Royals, I think referring to her as "little Ruby" would work. :D

edited to add..I forgot, w/it being the time of Chinese New Year's, the little Princess was born under the Chinese Horoscope sign of the Dragon. In Chinese tradition/horoscope, the Dragon is the sign of the Imperial Family of China and/or Royalty. It also believed that any baby born during a Year of the Dragon will be a very blessed and lucky person.

Horoscope 2012, forecast for the 2012 year of the black Dragon (http://www.gotohoroscope.com/chinese-zodiac-dragon.html)

Can't wait to see the first visit of Queen Margarethe and Prince Henrik to the Hospital to meet their new Granddaughter. Not to mention the three new Big Brothers. :D

Sorry for the double post, but as this isn't about Europe's newest little Princess...

The dates and details of Sophie and Edward's Diamond Jubliee visit to Montserrat have been released by the Government of Montserrat.

Government of Montserrat ~ Earl of Wessex to visit Montserrat in March (http://www.gov.ms/?p=6016)

Not sure why that's not titled "Earl *and* Countess of Wessex..." Also the first time since the Wedding Day and Edward's titles announced where I've seen Sophie referred to as "The Princess Edward" in any official Press Release.

This does sound pretty cool though...

The Prince and Princess Edward (the Earl and Countess of Wessex) will visit Montserrat on Friday 2 March 2012 and will arrive and depart by sea.

I know that's more than likely because it's such a small Country/Territory they don't have an Airport. Regardless, it's still pretty cool. :)

Also...The pictures I know I was waiting to see from Denmark.

MSM Denmark ~ Joachim brings the three new Big Brothers to meet their new Sister and Uncle Fredrick and Aunt Mary also arrive to meet their new Niece (http://starlounge.dk.msn.com/photoviewer.aspx?cp-documentid=160386969#image=1)

No sign of Christian or Isabella w/Mary and Frederick, but they might have come too, but brought in a different spot of the Hospital to avoid the Press.

Oh and don't you just luuuuuuve Google Translate...

Prince Henrik told me that he had not kept the child.

- Oh no, it is too small yet. It is not I who must give her milk.

(Me here...Oh dear, if he doesn't want to keep her, that could produce *quite* the problem in the Family. ;) The actual quote by HRH though...He really did say this after being asked if he'd held his newest Granddaughter yet. :D )

Also Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess March y came to visit Mary and the baby. (Translates "Marie" into Mary, but Mary into March y!?! Okay...)

- But we are delighted to welcome her into the large family, said Frederick, who announced himself the father of four. (So, he does that whenever he meets anyone new?) The children, however, they become charged at home. (They're batteries now?) But Mary told him that Prince Christian , six, and Princess Isabella , four, also want to meet their cousin. (

The observations of the bolded parts are all w/my tongue firmly planted in my cheek. As I said...Don't you just love Google Translate...LOL!!! :D

I'm guessing the next Royal Baby watch will be for the Future King or Queen of Sweden in March sometime, right? Or have I forgotten someone inbetween?

Happy 10th Wedding Anniversary to TRH The Prince and Princess of Orange!!!

Maxima's Wedding Dress is one of my favourites and just so suited her too. :)

Also HM King Abdullah of Jordan turned 50 on Monday, so a big milestone for HM.

The biggest Anniversary happens today though IIRC. I do have it right that February 2nd is HM Queen Elizabeth II's Accession Day and therefore today is the Official Start of her Diamond Jubliee year? I do have that right, right?

Nope - George VI passed away on Feb 6 1952 - so Accession Day for HM Queen Elizabeth II is next Monday.

Yeah, :o I realized that after reading this earlier today...

Daily Mail ~ My indispensable grandpa, by Prince Harry: The young royal pays tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2094118/Prince-Harry-pays-tribute-Prince-Philip-Duke-Edinburgh.html)

‘Regardless of whether my grandfather seems to be doing his own thing, sort of wandering off like a fish down the river, the fact that he’s there – personally, I don’t think that she could do it without him, especially when they’re both at this age,’ he says.

I really do believe Harry's dead on w/that. When Phillip had his heart problems at Christmas, Mom said to me she doesn't think that if Phillip goes first, the Queen will live too much longer after him. When I asked her why, she told me she's just got this feeling that they're one of those couples that are just *so* bonded together that regardless of who passes away first, the other won't be parted from them for very long.

And you know something? I think she might just be right about that. Hopefully, we won't have to worry about this for a few years yet.

I'll admit that I'm not a fan of the Duke of Edinburgh. He's made his share of racist or boorish public remarks over the years. However, he does have some qualities I admire. He's loyal to the Queen and he doesn't whine. It can't be easy for a man of his generation to take a back seat to his wife. He's a proud man with an illustrious pedigree. He was a naval officer, a leader of men before his wife ascended to the throne. Since then he's always had to walk one step behind her. Yet for the past 60 years, he's done so and carried out his many official duties with a minimum of public kvetching. I admire his fortitude.

Kate will be performing her first solo engagements that have to do w/the Charities/Organizations she's taken on next week...

February 8th ~ She'll be visiting the National Portrait Gallery's Lucian Freud Portraits exhibition.

February 14th ~ She'll be visiting Ronald McDonald House and also The Brink. It's an alcohol free cafe bar that's part of Action on Addiction's work.

In far more worrisome news...

Royalty nu ~ Japanese emperor to undergo heart test (http://www.royalty.nu/news/12/02/MocAkih.html)

This does not sound good at all. :(

I have the same feelings about the Queen and Prince Phillip as your mom. Once he goes, she won't be long behind him. Unless of course she takes after her mother.

You know, we missed Marie and Joachim taking their little Princess home from the hospital *and* the first pictures of the little lady...

Hello ~ Marie's husband can't take his eyes off their little princess as she makes her debut (http://www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/201201277092/princess-marie-presents-baby/)

She's a sweet little one snoozing away while Mom and Dad show her off. :D Can't wait to find out the Christening date and also when we find out her names too.

Was there any truth to the rumour that the Dowager Queen had to undergo a pregnancy examination before her daughter's proclamation? Maybe they just asked her if she was pregnant? Well she was 51, but at least the latter had to be done, I would think...

This was one of the most memorable sights 60 years ago: http://iconicphotos.wordpress.com/2010/04/21/three-queens-in-mourning/ Sad that Queen Mary just couldn't attend the funeral of her son, she watched the procession from her window in Marlborough House.

What was the precedence of the two queens dowager? Some sources say that Elizabeth, Queen of George VI, dropped from first lady of the land to third. When it comes to former presidential heads of state, the eldest (in terms of inauguration) takes the precedence. But I'm not sure that's applicable here. Although in Russia the dowager was always above the consort...
