Yes indeed...A very Happy 30th Birthday to The Duchess of Cambridge!!!

And before I forget to post it again... There's been Twitter tweets from various Royal Reporters in Britain that HRH will be taking part in a few engagements w/HM during the next few weeks during William's deployment to the Falklands. I wonder if these would be engagements that the DoE would be doing w/HM, but since Phillip's been ordered by Doctors to take it easy and scale things back for the next few months at least, this is a way for that to happen and for HM and Kate to work together too.

A win win IMO, as Phillip takes it easy as per Dr's orders and Kate gets to not only know her Granny in Law a bit better, but also learn from the best there is when it comes to how to do Engagements. Of course, that's just me, but I really do think it's a win win kind of a thing.

Looking so forward to this week's celebrations in Denmark. It's going to be quite the Royal week for us!! :D :D :D

There's more than one Jubilee this year! :cheer2:

HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark is celebrating 40 years on the throne this coming week. :)

Here's the schedule (http://kongehuset.dk/english/Menu/material/40th-jubilee-as-reign/programme). Fingers crossed for nongeoblocked programming, though Danish Radio has a rather reliable YouTube channel.

one of the events is the opening of an exibihition at the Museeum of National History at Frederiksborg Castle (http://www.dnm.dk/dk/uk_info.htm). This is the castle in the town I grew up in :) and it is pretty awesome. (The cathedral there is where Joachim married Alexandra (his first wife) - fun fact: I was a teen and still a scout and stood guard in the torch parade at their route :) ).

the museeum has a very big collection of portraits from mainly danish nobility and royalty, very facinating to see the different styles through the years.

The exibihition (http://www.dnm.dk/dk/Regentjubil_aelig_um_1972_-_2_12.htm) HRM is opening is one about her reign: About her role in the constitutional monachy, retrospective through the 40 years and also some of her memorable dresses. In addition, a new potrait by Niels StrÝbek will be revealed (I thought as much, given this is the potrait collection museeum)

^ OT, but did anyone catch the "Ab Fab" special? Edina thinks she's fluent in Danish 'cuz she's watching "The Killing" on DVD.

Agree this bodes very well for Kate. A good relationship is obviously critical, and I hope she also has a good one with Camilla.

A very Happy 40th Jubilee to Queen Margrethe II!!!

From Hello...

Hello ~ Christian steals the show as he helps grandma celebrate 40 years as queen (http://www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/201201126968/christian-margrethe-40-years-denmark/)

Love it and think the artist did an amazing job on the portrait.

From our favourite blog, The Order of Splendour...

Royal Fashion Awards: The Ruby Jubilee at City Hall (http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2012/01/royal-fashion-awards-ruby-jubilee-at.html)

Queen Silvia...What on earth were you thinking w/that hat!?!

Royal Fashion Awards: The Ruby Jubilee Gala Performance (http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2012/01/royal-fashion-awards-ruby-jubilee-gala.html)

Of all the things I expected to see from the Celebrations in Denmark this weekend, I did not expect to see Countess Alexandra attending anything. She's the ex wife of Prince Joachim and Mother to his two oldest sons *and* she also attended w/her new Husband on her arm. Lovely to see her there.

Royal Fashion Awards: The Ruby Jubilee Church Service ( http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2012/01/royal-fashion-awards-ruby-jubilee.html)

And there's more on the way w/the events of tonight. :)

And we have the Gala Banquet pictures on Order of Splendor

http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2012/01/royal-fashion-awards-ruby-jubilee-gala_15.html

I have to say that after following the fashions at the celebrations this weekend, I'm missing tiaras at the Golden Globes.

 All too true, although Charlize Theron came the closest w/that sparky headband of hers.

OoS also has this...

Random Royal Appreciation: The First Royal Wedding of 2012 (http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2012/01/random-royal-appreciation-first-royal.html)

Normally, I'm not a fan of a younger bride using an actual colour for her Wedding Gown and I just don't know why. I've always felt that way for some reason and maybe it's the traditionalist in me. Anyway...In this case, I adore Princess Basma's dress in all of it's light pink glowing glory!!

So very pretty and that colour just really works w/her skin colour too. Really gorgeous dress and Bride.

Her Groom's not that bad looking either. ;)
