Yup. Poor guy. :/

I have a fascinating biography on his mother Princess Alice. A very, er, interesting lady to say the least!

^ Eade's Young Prince Philip is really good!

The guy basically didn't even have a childhood, even by early 20th century aristocratic standards. :( Then his sister (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Cecilie_of_Greece_and_Denmark) and her family dying in that terrible plane crash.... :(

Oh, but Princess Alice of Greece and Denmark! :biggrinbo Now that was a woman with a fascinating life story...

...AND an infamous nun's habit (http://lisawallerrogers.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/princess_alice_of_battenberg_coronation-1953-focus.png?w=500) for HMQ's coronation.

Fascinating, and despite (as HRH notes) her probably not thinking hiding that family was anything much, Yad Vashem does not give out "Righteous Among the Nations" to just anyone.

So...Did anyone get anything Royal related for Christmas?

I almost did. My sister bought me the BBC DVD of the Royal Wedding. Small problem...Already have it. Oh well, she got it at Chapters, kept the bill, so I sent it back w/my Nephew and told her to exchange it for the Figure Skating Calendar, which I could not find last time I was over.

I still can't believe she did that though. I mean...A book, I'd understand, but she knows I have a DVR and therefore...!?!

Oh well...I did get my usual amount of gift cards for Chapters, so an addition to the Royal Library shall be forthcoming. :D

Remember little Diamond, the little girl with cancer who presented flowers to Kate in Calgary this past summer. She had written a letter to Make a Wish saying she wanted to meet a real princess. It was announced today that she is now cancer free!

That is happy news indeed! :)

Zara is, IMHO, the most regal looking of all the latest generation of royal women. I think it may be because she isn't trying to too hard. She is just spending Christmas with her family. Beatrice and Eugenie always look like they are working really hard to look like HRH's.

Zara is always very elegant and one of my faves but I've always thought the most regal royal to be the late Princess Margaret's daughter Lady Sarah Chatto. :)

I'll admit, the girl cleans up well. :D

But "always very elegant" ?
Seems I recall some distinctly un-elegant moments a few years back. :D

I think she looks a lot like Princess Margaret in that picture.

And is that her brother behind her in that pic? If so he looks just like his father Lord Snowdon!!

I'll add Lady Helen Taylor, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Kent to that elegant list as well. She always looks amazing whenever we get a chance to see her.

William, Catherine and Harry will all be attending the London Premiere of War Horse on the 8th IIRC. I was having fits w/my connection last night, so couldn't get back in here to post that. Not surprised that gets a Royal Premiere considering the story of the movie.

Still haven't seen any pictures yet of yesterday's New Year's Court in Denmark thanks to my problems yesterday. It's a full out orders, uniforms and Tiaras event, so...:D I do know that Princess Marie did not attend, but that was announced in advance and understandable considering she could be going into labour any day now.

Once I find links, I'll be back. :)

Mary looked fab! And Margrethe looks Tudor era-esque... I kinda like it!

Mary does look fab. Looks like the royals are rocking velvet gowns this season.
