I did wonder what the money changers were about.

Does anyone know?

ISU change rules for guide ice dancing in another direction - not just skating with music, but dancing on ice.

In the translation "Indeed ISU and that for money-changers was guided in order to direct our form into the necessary river bed - so that precisely they would dance on ice, but simply they did not roll themselves under the music", it's possible that money-changers relates to the word bankers, loosely meaning the people who finance skating - perhaps suggesting that audiences want to see dancing, and that a more dance-oriented approach would help with skating/ice dance's financial viability. "River bed" would be "channel", probably, used figuratively as a mode or approach.

However, I may be completely wrong about this.

Looks like the word "money" in money-changers crept in through the translation, and the word was just "change"?

So I guess my hypothesis about money-changers was completely wrong.

I enjoy reading machine translations, in terms of analyzing word roots and derivations. Very interesting.

Thanks, pani.

Google translation for the "money changers" part:

Initially, Davis and White was placed on the free dance to music from the movie "The Road" by Federico Fellini, and judging by the interview in the offseason, by the skaters liked this theme. Why in the end it decided to replace it?

- You know, I have from the very beginning there were some doubts. Get music from La Strada was the idea of Charlie. And I always have great respect for such proposals athletes. When the performer feels the music, the program always sounds especially vital. Charlie was just so, and we made the program. The result was our version of history, lyrical and romantic. But after the statement was prepared Shibutani, and Virtue and Moir, I have a question: but rather whether the program is a dance? Is there enough in the music by Nino Rota, in fact, dance? After all, ISU and to change the rules to direct our view in the right direction - that is dancing on ice, and not just skated to the music. I asked a question the American judges before the season started. They said, yes, in principle, all is well. That first program was really very interesting and cute, with their findings. But for me personally this was not enough dancing

Nothing about money changers, just a weird bablefish translation. Google translations are a bit more coherent I find.

They didn't do a full run through but it looked good to me. They then praticed some lifts. They looked very relaxed, especially Tessa :)
