If anything in the FD should be changed or modified, it's the section after they finish their twizzle sequence and the stylish jazz grooving and go into the slow section. I know it is choreographically intended for them to look like they are just holding hands and strolling on the ice but after the 4CC scare this year when I first saw it at Finlandia I thought something is wrong why are they just skating like that.

I agree the elements between the jazz section and the slow section need to flow more seamlessly Scott needs to bring more of the character in the fold though.

I thought the exact same thing.

Thought the same thing at Finlandia. There the camera was from the judges side and it did give the impression. At SC the camera got them from the front and it was easier to see from that angle it was part of the choreography and they were "strolling".

So much of what we see on TV is subject to how the camera films the programs. I thought Finlandia camerawork was much more flattering then the work at SC. I really didn't like the camerawork at SC for instance the angle they shot the diagonal step from was just

I want Scott to get a new outfit. I wonder what it would look like with a jacket (British commentator got me thinking)

But i prefer to see them skating even open with open choreo, then don tsee there skating at all :D I think this help Tessa to stay in good condition. They had really difficult FD last season and she felt not good after WCh and they didnt get gold. So i prefer to see her happy and healthy on ice.
But i totally disagree with his comments about there step sequens - and tech specialist agree with me :D And i disagree with hi comments about twizzles- they had really great twizzles and they were so in synchro.

...

O and last - i love her red dress. This is really iconic Audrey dress and look good on Tessa. I wish they will made exibition from this FD and they could change costumes during this exibition - will be funny to watch :D

I see what you mean but I actually think that, given the amount of polish they showed in this FD so early in the season, they are more than capable of filling in some of the areas with crossovers (especially in the section after the first music change). They skated extremely well this weekend, so I am not worried about them tweaking a few areas. After seeing Shayii's post with the excerpt from that newspaper article, I realize that Tessa still has to manage the pain...but i hope the adjustments to her stroking are really alleviating a lot of that pain. so yes pani, you are right, they still have to be careful with her legs. I guess it is really tricky: you want to push your skaters but at the same time be mindful of her condition.

I also love this dress and had hoped she would go with the famous red dress. It really suits her and she looks exquisite (though, when does she not?:) ) and I love your idea about an exhibition number with multiple costume changes...Tessa does seem to be a fan of costume changes;)

and I agree with you about the twizzles, pani. I love the speed D&W carry on the first section of their twizzles, but V&M's twizzles, though not as fast, still have great speed, but also have terrific ice coverage and are very controlled (I know nlyoung had mentioned this in an earlier post). V&M have a very even speed throughout their twizzles (they don't noticeably lose speed when they change feet).
I also thought the step sequences were very well executed. Did Nicky mean that he thought the step sequence was a bit empty? I could not really understand what he was saying.
ANyways, I have already watched this performance at least 10 times. It seems to just fly by...one of those FDs that seems more like 2 minutes. I think it is enchanting, and cannot wait to see how they grow into the characters as the season unfolds.

Doris. thanks a lot foe this Nicky video - pure joy to watch this dance :lol:I think Scott could take few lessons from him ;);)
The last lift - i think it could be level 4?
But how faster ice dancers now! How they show deeper edges, then it was in the past.
As for Scott outfit. I think Scott feel uncomfartable, when he skate in some heavy ouitfit, like its hard for him to skate and doing elements. I wish to see someday reall ice dance costum on him, not simply balck pants and shirt, but i dont think i will see this someday, so i am OK with this :D

That's good to hear because there are enough "buts" out there that they need to listen and try to address it to have the results they want.
Yes. But its important to know - whom did they need listen and what need to improve. I am sure they have good team (Strong, Tracy Wilson) who could give them good advice.
And i am sure "mama Marina" have her own vision ;)

]I think Scott has said that he is not comfortable in a jacket or sweater? , so I'm sure you're right!

(I still think Karen & Nicky have the best Chaplin on ice Evah!)

But Nicky's admiration of Anna Capellini (and Luca Lanotte)over V&M & D&W is  sometimes.

O, Anna is really cute ;) I cant understand Nicky - this is a very good-looking couple. And they are very emotional guys - i injoy this two since they were juniors. And i am happy now they are on there way back on the ptop of there game.
Honestly he said T-S will win, but howe many points - this was the question :)

Oh how I miss my Eurosport. Chris Howarth is the other commentator. I always liked his commentary and found him fair so it's encouraging and hopeful that he liked this program. Nicky Slater knows his stuff as well but he definitely has his moments where it seems something personal comes out. I always imagined he watched things with a sneer  But I need to point out I haven't watched Eurosport for 3 years so these are dated opinions. Chris also used to work with Simon Reed. Don't know if he still does but Simon was the worst with little knowledge of what he was watching. The only thing his commentary is worth is to gauge what program is the most audience-friendly.

Simon always salivated over the pretty girls. His commentary during Tanith Belbin's skates was hilarious.

I absolutely love V&M's programs, and watching them over and over again makes me really happy.

that's reasonable. there is room for growth. they haven't maxed out the potential of funny face at skate canada. i like how scott and tessa are going back to a phrase they haven't used since their first season senior: we're trusting our training, our coaches and the process. and according to icenetwork, marina thinks that more can be done with funny face.

So glad to read this. I can't wait to see all the improvements at TEB!

Bbken its not that i don`t like D&W they are a good team i just don`t believe they are at the same level of Tessa and Scott they certainly don`t have the same musicality or understanding of the music i mean people went gaga over their tango last year and this year`s waltz as if its the second coming, Tessa and Scott mastered those two dances their first year as seniors, they also skated to one of the safest pieces of music you can skate in an olympic year phantom of the opera.
