Found this in another thread about senior B comp (just supporting what has already been discussed here):

The Senior B is currently not on the ISU calendar, which is normally set by March 1, each year. The location of 2012 Skate America is also not on the ISU calendar as of this date, though rumor has it Detroit is under consideration and the likely site.

Detroit is one of the few places I can reach with a direct flight. :cheer2::cheer2:

I'd think about Detroit. It needs love. Southwest will take me there.

Yeah, and those "rumors" probably came from someone reading this same thread, so I wouldn't take it as additional evidence of anything.

What the heck is going on with the USFSA these days?
Good question. And why will they only tell us the announcement will be made in mid-June? Why cant they tell us the cities in the running? national security? Same thing goes for Nats 2014.

If I have good information, I believe that some of the cities who wish to have 2014 Nationals are also asking for the next U.S. Worlds as part of the agreement. That could be the hold up. Not sure if that is correct, but it could be...

I don't know how a city could request both Nationals and Worlds. That seems kind of unreasonable (at least to me). Especially if it is an "all or nothing" kind of deal. :shuffle: Plus the USFS may not know when it will hold Worlds next. I'm guessing the USFS will bid for probably 2015 or 2016?

Plus I don't remember, are SA and the next nationals site usually announced together? I don't see why they would need to be.

I don't think they are announced together, but maybe the contenders for Nationals are also the contenders for SA.

Logistically speaking and considering the very different demands of the two events, I can't think of too many places that could actually host both.

If a Skate Club is leading the bid, they sometimes have the option of partnering with an arena in a smaller city or an arena complex in a larger city. For example, Skating Club of Boston hosted Synchro Nationals in Worcester, MA (maybe appropriate for SA), but someone posted a link earlier stating that their Nationals bid would be for an arena in Boston.

When will we know who will be invited to compete at Skate America? Didn't we know some of them in Mid-may last year

We generally don't know any assignments ahead of the official announcement. So we will know them all (except TBAs) at the same time.
