Well, Detroit area has enough skating folk that they might be able to sell some tickets.

We also have a major airport which would be good for anyone planning to fly in.

And $200 RT on Southwest from my airport. Might just happen!

I'd be down with Detroit. Someone on this board is already convinced I'm from there - would be nice to see "the motherland" :P

So would I!
I just wish they would announce the decision; so I can make plans.

It's already April. Is it a bad sight?

with the event scheduled in October, it is. especially for the audience who plan to watch live. they can't take advantage of airline sales to buy their tickets as well as make hotel arrangement.

if detroit is being considered will it be at the joe or cobo arena?

Of COURSE Detroit is in the mix once I move out of Michigan. I'd still come back for it though :saint:

I've already made plans to attend Skate Canada because I can stay with my sister in Detroit. The question is, would my boss have a heart attack if I asked for time off for both and how much would it cost to change my flight TO Detroit?

Ditto although who knows if I could go.

Same here.

Just a 6 hour drive. If I could get the time off and manage the hotel and ticket cost, I just might make it to my first major skating competition in 25 years.

Major selling point - even though it's only a 4 hour drive for me. :P

Detriot...major suckage for me, but I've pretty much given up going to SA and am planning other things for my vacation time. And money.
