I love the chalk clouds Daiane makes at the beginning of her routine  Her power amazes me. She has a lot of form issues, but she's one of the most powerful tumblers of the last decade or so.

I think she no more form issues than many - there's no piking down on her insane skills, here double arabian has legs glued together.... she bounces on landing quite a bit and her feet aren't pointed, but considering the horrible twists and cowboying that we see so often I wish the judges would give her a break!

Very cool mount -- a former Michigan State gymnastics (Nicole Heikkila) used to mount with the pommel flairs as well.

From International Gymnast:

Chellsie Memmel giving it one last shot (http://www.intlgymnast.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3126:memmel-giving-it-one-last-shot&catid=2:news&Itemid=166)

If she wants to give it one last go the best of luck to her but I think Memmel should call it a career. Her third shoulder surgery and just a few days ago with the Olympics just a few months away (and Nationals/Trials even closer)? I just don't know Marta Karoyli would consider an athlete with such a recent history of injury at important events (ankle injury if I recall at the Olympics took her out of every event but bars, a shoulder injury second day of Nationals last year, surgery THREE times on that shoulder since Nationals, the last one just a few days ago, etc.).

Chellsie's going to need her shoulder after gymnastics. Jmo.

I didn't know she was having surgery again. I just don't see how she can come back in time. She is one amazing competitor but her form on beam really showed how she had the skills but did not have the repetitions. She can do almost anything but it doesn't look polished right away and this is a gymnast who never had great form to begin with. However, if she is of use on bars then she has a shot since this is the US's most glaring weakness. I think there is only room for one of Nastia and Chellsie, though and Nastia certainly has first dibs. Chellsie's bars D score really isn't all that great any more, right?

In other news Komovas Patterson dismount is back.

Komova is going to be unstoppable if she is hitting the Amanar and that Patterson dismount. Weiber is desperately trying to up her D score to catch up with Komova of last year, but she can't catch up with Komova from 2 years ago. Not going to happen.
