Travis Wall's tweet was on 10/24 and he said he'd just booked his travel. Nastia tweeted a few days earlier that she'd finished her routines for Disson. I saw a press release where Nastia will be consulting on and performing in the post Olympic tour even if she doesn't compete so she could do a dancy routine for that with easy tumbling.

Shawn got Mark Ballas to do hers so I guess Nastia had to keep up with reality!

Gonzalez (CHI) just had a fantastic FX routine! :cheer2: Exciting and very pretty to watch, too. :)

15.625, good for him!

Mizoguchi (USA) got at 14. 125. :(

Rodriguez (PUR) nicely done at 14.900

Ruggeri (USA) just fell on his ass/back twice. Ooof.

I thought it was 3 falls for the American. Ouch. :yikes:

I meant the one-two in quick succession, it was just :yikes: I was shock for the third! ;)

14.675 for Scott Morgan (CAN)! He's a cutie and had a rockin' routine. :smokin:

Diego (BRA) 15.800!

Pommel results?

Brandie Jean Jay won vault. Gotta say I'm relieved the US has no hole in this event...:slinkaway

Abieu was devastated after falling on the crazy triple again. :( At least it was less scary than Worlds.

Uh I know this is super old news, but I've rewatched Kohei Uchimura's AA performance a couple of times and I just can't get over HOW GOOD HE IS. It's just incredible.

And congrats to Bridgette and Shawn for their UB medals, and to Brandon and CJ for their rings medals! I'm also happy to hear Diego Hypolito won floor--I really hope he can give a great floor performance in London to make up for the disaster that was Beijing.

Finals for today:

Beam: Ana Gomez (GUA)
Vault: Diego Hypolito (BRA)
Floor: Ana Lago (MEX)
Parallel Bars: Daniel Corral (MEX)
High Bar: Paul Ruggeri (USA)

Fantastic meet for mexican gymnasts, given that the mexican girls are very young, surely good things are in the future for us, hope they can improve and keep going.

Daniel Corral with two historic gold medals, his score on pbars was 15.550

Honorable mention to Canada getting silver on floor - nice to see Gerber's FX rewarded!

10-29-2011, 04:14 AM
Gerber should have had gold, IMHO. The fact that Lago outscored Gerber in EXECUTION when Lago had a huge mistake on her last pass is a joke. The difference was .025; you really don't think there was some Mexican favoritism in the scoring. Oh well. :p

Apparently Verona van de Leur is to become a "pornstar" ... :slinkaway

Didn't her boyfriend get in trouble for child porn?
