I'm really glad the team is picked at trials next year, hopefully that means we'll have a healthy Olympic team for once.

But didn't Marta also say that the training camps would be longer to make up for it?

Why can't the TF be 6-4-4 or even 6-5-5? It'd be so much better!

Also, I say go back to 3 per country for AA, and 36 in all.

Meh. Probably. She has to break one somehow. :blah:

Not many will disagree with you on those but unfortunately FIG is not listening.

Ok, I simply MUST let out this typographical ejaculation:

LEYVA!!!! OMG, a Team USA Boy wins a Gold?!?!?!?! :cheer2:

Forgive my nancy-boy squeeling, but this never happens! I'm plotzing so hard!!! :swoon: :biggrinbo

ORGASMZ X 2!!! :P:swoon::cheer2: What a wild rollercoaster ride of emotions these World Championships were for Dany and his fans! Still, he walks away with a team bronze and an individual gold; cheers to him!

Aly has curly hair. I'm sure she does her best to make it look nice but, unfortunately, curly hair doesn't always cooperate. Vika has fine hair. I'm sure she washes it on a regular basis but, unfortunately, fine hair can look dirty even when it isn't.

I'm a guy and I have naturally curly hair, and yes, it is very difficult to keep it neat when it's grown out, even just a little long. I couldn't imagine it ever looking neat if I were a girl with longer hair and being a professional gymnast on top of that. I think many give Raisman too hard a time over something so small and superficial.

Just read that the gymnastics officials donated $100,000 to Japanese red cross - nice touch.

Go FIG (though the code and new Olympic format can still suck it)! Very thoughtful gesture! :)

what happened to our prediction contest, i am hoping it will be updated soon.

I think i did ok, even considering that my ring prediction did not appear on the contest website.

Can the gymnasts opt out since they are already on the team?

Isn't that mostly the IOG forcing them to cut competitors?

I always liked Lyssenko's big curly ponytail. Curly hair is difficult to tame, no question, but it doesn't even look like Raisman tries. Maybe it's old-fashioned, but I prefer athletes both male and female to be reasonably well-groomed for competition.

All the hair gel in the world wouldn't keep my hair from boinging out once I started sweating. By the time the gymnasts show up for the actual event, they've already warmed up -- and gotten sweaty, I presume -- elsewhere. And once you have gel/hairspray in your hair, it isn't as if you can brush or comb it again.

I think she's very attractive, and nicely groomed. And a fabulous gymnast.

I hate the bun with random hair poking out as sported by Raisman, ASac and now even my beloved Maroney. It looks a state and is very distracting - at least to me. Give me facelifting ponytails, millions of grips and glitter spray any day :cheer: Just no scrunchies!! :scream:
