^IKR! She's great! And, if I haven't mentioned it already, soooo pretty! ;)

Speaking of Maroney - what is with her hair? I am puzzled all week already. Does she have two ponytails one over another or is part of her hair hanging out?

Aww, no Douglas or Vega on UB from team finals on NBC's coverage either? Boo. I was hoping they'd be doing their own filming and show it. :(

:P Cute, but that list sounds like far more variety of gymnast than any other federation. Most go decades featuring no more than two of those flavors.

Yes, and I love the US for it as well.

I think she has longer hair and has part of it hanging out at the bottom to keep it from being on her neck too much. I've done that from time to time although my hair is a little shorter than hers.

Love the little peptalk Aly Raisman gave to the US girls that they just showed on NBC. The US girls look like they've competed together for years in this team competition. Rock solid! :respec: :cheer:

Totally :cheer: for Phan! She's so graceful in her run-up, too

Her 1st run-up especially was awesome, she barely pumped her arms yet got so high! :respec:

Loved the high 1/2 collar on her outfit, too. :)

Here's a question for the technical smarties: Is there a theory behind having such a difference in degree of difficulty between Maroney's two vaults? Is it in case the higher DD vault has execution problems that can be made up by doing an easier 2nd vault?

Its more to do with the fact that Maroney's second vault isn't used a lot. Now girls are doing Yurchenkos, Yurchenkos so its the easiest to upgrade. A lot of the best vaulters who are top AA don't even have a second vault due to the injury issue. (Like Shawn for example)

I believe Maroney has vaulting upgrades in the works....

I frankly almost wish they'd encourage two vaults in the AA and have the vault be different from Yurchenkos. Vault is becoming freaking compulsory.

Remember the days when you not only had to do two vaults in the AA, but they HAD to be different?! Blimey. The one vault rule is something I particularly hate.

I actually have to say that I love this floor exercise and would love her to win floor. I do give Jordyn credit for making the effort to have yes an artistic and pleasing floor routine. I know Geddert has her work on floor choregraphy far more than other gymns. To be frank, WOGA should take note with Bross.

Fave moment of this broadcast: Watching the US girls try to figure out which direction to look for their flag while on the podium, LOL  (BTW-Why did the anthem end so abruptly?)

Loved Sui's beam routine (hadn't really seen her yet during my video watching) and I actually liked the first Russian girl's FX routine the best (her name was really long and I can't remember it for anything right now). Poor Komova looked terrified during her FX after she messed up her first pass landing. Wish we could have seen a few more routines during this NBC broadcast but I guess they're at the mercy of the world feed that didn't record everything.

Wow, consistency, thy name is United States!!!! No major mistakes or breaks and just solid, difficult gymnastics.

My heart ached for Anna Li. :wuzrobbed: I'm sure the general public had no idea of her situation and how unfair it really was.
