It is nice to see Nabieva smile, but I think HQS was undermarked.

Watching Wieber on bars is somewhat painful (and I really like Wieber). She reminds me of Butyrskaya in that you feel she just wills the skills to happen, her body does not naturally want to do them.

Wieber isn't a natural bar worker at all, but I do like her mount. It is a bit painful overall though. I love HQS on-bar work; it's really elegant,I think she should have come 2nd. Komova was the rightful winner though.

Lambertus? I am having a baby boy in 3 weeks, totally going to add that to the name list.

Horton looks like such small fry compared to these guys.

Why did he change his name from Yuri.

Thanks :)

Sadly, Yibing may be left off the O team next year if China can't carry him on the 5 man team, does he do anything else? Did Brazil qualify a full team or does Zanetti just get his automatic berth?

I don't equate mastery of skills as being artistic. That is just being the best at what you do. Someone with great form isn't necessarily artistic, they just have great form! IMO, of course. Artistry is subjective so no one is right or wrong.

The commentator on BBC was saying that she thinks the problem with Jordyn's bars is actually the skill selection. That Jordyn has good swing on her dismount but the skill selection, she felt makes Wiebers bars more labored.

As for HQS the Chinese have some build in deductions that they are starting to get hit on. She had a dead hang which is 5 tenths and her routine can be kind of muscled. I love the Chinese beautiful pirouttes but I must say I think the Russians general composition is frankly the way the apparatus should. Good swing, good use of the high and low bar, great transitions and connected elements. Mustafina's bar routine composition especially is really truly cool.

It would be nice to see a routine that combined the Chinese strengths with the Russians strengths.

^That would be :swoon:

I think/hope the Chinese, AND the Romanians, realise there's alot to work on for London. I think the judges have sent them some pretty big signals this year.

How cool would it be if Khorkina came back for UB/BB... I mean if Chusovitina and Ponor could do it.. They would have Komova/Mustafina/Grishina AA, throw in Khorkina UB/BB and Afanasyeva VT/FX and that is epic. She knew how to do enough skills on both events to get high difficulty scores.

Then over on the US side we have Wieber/Bross/Ross AA with Liukin UB/BB and Maroney VT/FX and oh my.. :swoon:

*daydreaming*

If Khorkina comes back, how about Pavlova too? OK, I know she hasn't "gone" as such, but still. I want more FX's from her.

That Viet girl who won bronze is gorgeous! WOW. COngrats on a bronze; a great moment!

Khorkina and Pavlova re both not going to make Russian team, Khorkina is happy as a member of Duma (russian legislative assembly) and Pavlova doesn't seem to have difficulty except vt, where she is able to do a DTY. On top of that Alekandrov or Rodinenko does not seem to trust her. Many russian gymnasts will have to drop injured for Pavs to have any chance of making the team, personally i hope she won't make the team and other girls will get an opportunity.

^I wasn't really being serious tbh, I know Pavs is basically done (and also, doesn't seem that liked by the Russian coaches) and I know for sure we've seen the last of Khorkina lol.

yeah we have, but I bet she could still put a mean uneven bars set together.
