Dostatni and his wife will be moving to Colorado Springs to teach at the World Arena. Will this be the catalyst needed to revive the dance program there?

((sigh)) Didn't we go through all this backstabbing-disguised-as-gossip a few months ago already?

I thought he was Shpilband/Zoueva's favorite technical controller/specialist. Didn't know he was also an active coach on the side. :watch:

His surname isn't Donstani. It isn't Dostani either.

It's Dostatni.

Ugh!

It's a simple question? Why all the hate? How is this backstabbing? I just don't know much about him or his wife. What kind of addition will they be to the World Arena staff? Sorry if I'm missing something here.

A Google search turns up the following info...

Andrzej Dostatni (Polish national dance champion who competed at the 1988 Olympics and Worlds from 1987-1991) and his wife Elena (Elena Khaliavina/Maxim Shabalin won the silver medal in dance at 2002 Junior Worlds) have been coaching in Sun Valley, Idaho. Dostatni is listed as an ISU Dance Technical Specialist for Poland.

He is moving to CO the end of the month. It's been announced by World Arena. It's not speculation. Does anyone know more about his coaching background?

Interesting that you'd ask, since you seem to know a lot more than you're letting on. Care to share more about what you do know about the situation and his background? :watch:

Wow. You people need to calm down-- this person posted news. Do you not want news? And yes, I have read previous posts-- just find the reaction to be rude.

Interesting, so has ever been technical controller when Monko/Khaliavin has competed, i would think this is conflict of interest when your brother-in-law is skating.

You seem to know already, since you phrased your original post to suggest that the dance program needs reviving.

Rudeness seems to be extoled as a virtue here on this (more frequent than not totally unmoderated), FSU. It's unfortunate that this forum has to be saddled with this reputation which detracts from the wonderful information found from many sincere posters. One simply has to filter through all the "b _ _ _s_ _ _" to find it.

It also helps to have a huge set of cajones to put up with the verbal abuse that a few here feel it's their duty to dish out.

Other than the aforementioned, FSU still provides valuable insight into the sport of Figure Skating!

I thought Andrei was married to Darlin Baker? They have skated in the Sun Valley ice shows together for awhile.
