Weeee congrats to our medalists. And Purvis improves on last year. Orozco I guess will be looking at what went wrong. And absolutely gutted for Leyva. He wasn't having the best AA but for that to happen is horrible. Though not sure if he didn't complete his HB or what as AA Twitter feed not working for me.

Boy :respec: luuurve him! I thought he was kind of screwed by the judges on p-bars, so I was thrilled to see hm come back with an AMAZING performance on high bar. I hope he hits like that again in the EF!

Orozco was great on his last few events, had he performed like he did in qualifications on PH and rings, he could have taken a medal. Still, he did well to finish Top 5 in his first worlds.

Leyva :( It just wasn't his day at all.

I take it you were watching this live? Couldn't tell us what happened exactly?

Leyva all the way in 24th with a 6.466 on HB?!?!? Ouch. :(

:wuzrobbed It really seems every athlete I love to watch is doomed. :( In a million depressions now . . . this may be too painful for me to watch tonight. I really hope Dany did not hurt himself too badly, in terms of health or pride.

Many congrats to all the athletes who had a successful meet!

I did watch live but Universal Sports chacked Leyva in favor of Belyaviskiy on PH. I read on twitter that he clipped his chin on the HB after his Liukin and didn't finish the routine after that.

If Wieber wins the AA in London she will have to be regarded as the greatest American gymnast ever. Since Johnson, Liukin, Miller, Retton, Memmel, and Zmeskal all failed to win both the World AA and Olympic AA. Only one or the other in each case.

I hope not...:slinkaway

I dont think she will. Mustafina for instance would have killed her if she was at Worlds this year (granted Wieber could have performed better and can improve further). Komova healthy for a whole year, if she can be, could wind up being better. Some think Ross is going to be better than Wieber next year, or maybe Grishina. Still if she does I think she will have to be given that title.

If Jordyn won next year, it would be nothing short of a minor miracle. She is an AMAZING gymnast, but she has probably the hardest battle of anyone to get to the top, because the gymnasts that are nipping at her heels have the potential to be SO much better. Plus, an American has won the AA the last two Olympics...I don't think the judges will allow a three-peat.

I pretty much knew not to get my hopes up about an American in the AA next year, so I am focusing all my positive vibes towards the TF. I think the US can pull it off next year; I really do. They just need to stay healthy, and hit, hit, hit.

Because at the end of the day for me its the fact that the sport of gymnastics is going down hill and I miss the beauty of this sport. Komova is the direction this sport needs to go in not Wieber/Bross/Raisman as nice of girls as they may be. It sickens me that beautiful gymnasts (which are rare now in this sport) aren't rewarded enough or even given the benefit of the doubt in the close call.

May I say something? :)

Girl needs some serious personality, because she can't sell a program to save her life! She is what I would call a robot. A walking corpse. Would it kill her to fake a little joy at least? Even when she's performing good, she looks miserable out there. What's that all about? :slinkaway

Wieber is explosive, powerful, and exciting. Love her expression and passion on the FX, something Komova doesn't have.

The sport doesn't need to go in one direction only, it's big enough to welcome all styles.
