this breaks my heart

she looked like she thought for a mini-second that she had it and then realized that she didn't by really nothing

I'm not surprised I had a feeling Komova might struggle on floor. I think next year will be different. It does sound like from they way people described jordyn's floor that jordyn was overscored there. Her highest floor total for the routine with the most errors. Not right.

The opportunity was there for Komova to grab gold. Weiber's mistakes in UB could have been the death knell but she fought back and had two great performances on Beam and Floor. Komova had a decent beam and floor but not better than Weiber. Not that I got to see either of them sadly.

From quick hits:

The arena is incredibly flat following the result. The only cheering is from the US camp.

Commentators on BBC sound still shocked. They were so sure after Komova's floor that she would win that they already congratulated her.

And they wonder if the Russian team will appeal her scores on beam and floor.

:fragile: I love Komova's gymnastics sooo much but it might be a blessing in disguise and if she's fully fit she'll be all the hungrier in London.

Wieber had landing errors on all but one of her passes, and a step out of bounds and they gave her a 14.8.

Anyone here get to watch all four performances from both girls? Which one did you think did better?

The announcers are thinking that Komova fell out of a spin on floor and landed her last pass a bit low and that is where the deduction could be from. Of course, most thought she had the title until the scores came up.

Jordyn's floor showed more personality than earlier, in my opinion, but there was the OOB.

But why was Komova's beam score so low?

I think Komova should've won. Not by much mind you, but I would've given it to her.

Weiber was a bit overscored on floor. Not egregiously, but enough to give her the win.

She was shaky. I think next year will be better from Komova. Not just because she may have that Amanar, but because her tumbling will be more consistent/stronger.

Great result for Komova anyway. 3 months ago, nobody thought she'd be back to doing AA.

Even right before Worlds, it was thought she might just focus on beam/bars.
