Komova's acro series is just :swoon: I wish the beam was longer and the code rewarded doing 3 layout stepouts like in the early 90's. Can you imagine how effing gorgeous that would look from her!?

It is incredible. :swoon: 3 layouts from her would be magical, I think in today's code she would still get connection bonus for it. Her upper body, shoulders, feet, everything is so perfect its as if she's doing it on a cloud. She is so Russian, this beam routine alone I want to give her 13 gold medals for.

Ok USA can have team, Maroney Vault, Komova can have the rest. :D

I liked Raisman's floor, it's an almost there routine for me that is lucky to have that tumbling. I loved the tumbling. That was the best combination of 4 passes hit in a routine that I've seen in the past 10 years. She nailed those and they were all so tough :kickass: dance and feet bring the overall impression down a bit but in this competition, I think it's going to be really hard to beat. I too prefer the Wiebs on this event, but with Afanasyeva out I'd like the 2 americans to medal with Komova winning (even with a double tuck :biggrinbo).

I wasn't prepared to board the Komova express until a few months after this competition, but I've got my seatbelt on now and not coming off :cheer2: :cheer:

Horton did a great FX routine too! US men rocking the FX right now. Score: 14.9

BTW-I'm just posting US stuff I see on Twitter but if anyone wants to know anything else, I'll try to find that news for you. Hope no one minds me covering the US team stuff! :)

You may be right but I thought I read that in this code you get nothing for doing a 3rd layout stepout. The value is the same as 2 layout stepouts, I think. I may be totally wrong, though.

I've heard conflicting reports on it too, I remember maybe 2006ish it didn't get anything but maybe 2009ish I read something different? I don't know, she just needs to keep making it look like that. :swoon:

Dalton gets a 15.366 to give the US team a 60.499 in their first rotation! Onto PH now and my nerves will be shot until this rotation is over, LOL

If it gets something it is probably not enough to justify the risk, as is true with a lot of things in gymnastics. For example, if 3 layout stepouts only gets .1 more than 2, most gymnasts would never do it because most gymnasts can not do a layout stepout with some deduction in this harsh code, not to mention the risk for a wobble or fall goes up with each successive layout. Honestly, most gymnasts don't even do 2 layout stepouts so the bonus on that probably isn't worth it for most gymnasts. Komova, however, can do them deduction free.

Yeah, really. In fact, these next two rotations will be weak. I'm sure they're going to need to make up some ground with vault, p bars, and high bar.

I poured myself a glass of wine right before the rotation started
