Azerbaijan 'paid $9m for London 2012 Olympic boxing golds'

BBC is claiming that Azerbaijan has paid $9 million to buy boxing gold medals at the 2012 Olympics. If this claim is proven this could be huge set back to Azerbeijan's 2020 olympic ambitions, as well as a greater scrutiny of all the sports bodies where Azerbaijani companies are major sponsors (Fila- wrestling). Azerbeijan is also notorious for buying athletes from around the world (much more than middle-eastern counties), usually they go under the radar of scrutiny since they usually get athletes from former Soviet Republics. However in athletics they do import athletes from Ethiopia and Kenya.
