And it was a gorgeous goal too.

Didn't realize the CBC had changed programming for tonight. I've been checking NHL On The Fly on the NHL Network and that's where I saw the highlights of the first period.

Yeah, I knew you all will be talking about the Crosby comeback. ;)

Yay, Sid! So glad he's been able to return. Hope after this game he experiences no setbacks. The brain is an oogalie/boogalie thing, so who knows what a full game will do to it.

Penguins lost the other night, but my niece and nephew still had a good time.

I didn't know that in the NHL it's Happy Fire Your Coach Day. Bruce Boudreau and Paul Maurice have both been fired by the Capitals and the Hurricanes. Dale Hunter is Boudreau's replacement in Washington, and there hasn't been any official announcement of who Maurice's replacement will be, though Bob McKenzie and other reporters are saying it's Kirk Muller.

Capitals fire Bruce Boudreau; Dale Hunter named new head coach

I hope this means I won't see nor hear Boudreau's stupid commercials anymore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skrRyKXbSKY But Dale Hunter will certainly keep my Caps dislike going :P .

(btw, I wonder if the Penguins will practice at the Caps' rink this Wednesday or Thursday. Must contact my :sekret: )

What I find hilarious is that I get a copy of the London Free Press and in my copy this morning, there was no mention of Hunter leaving his Jr A club. They did quote him as saying that he has a good group that help him coach his club and the writer of the article speculated on whether Dale would be going or staying. Guess that's what happens when you put your copy to bed at 9pm.

Bad news: Canucks had whooped Sharks' a$$ on Saturday night. Although the Sharks battled valiantly. Once again, Niemi is the weakest link.

Good news: I watched the Canucks warm-up and they sort of cute, some of them. :shuffle:

. Carlyle will be launched soon from the Ducks too, as they are absolutely horrible.

I really shouldn't be surprised about Boudreau, but for some reason I kind of felt that, barring another epic losing streak like they had last year, George McPhee would give him one more shot at the playoffs. I'm kind of wondering if Leonsis may have gotten personally involved here.

That being said, you could definitely feel this coming for awhile, especially with the recent rumblings about him and Ovechkin butting heads. If it came down to those two you always knew who was going to win.

. Carlyle will be launched soon from the Ducks too, as they are absolutely horrible. It's kind of amazing how many coaches are on the hot seat right now. Two down already, and there's still Carlyle, Arniel in Columbus, Sacco in Colorado, Capuano for the Islanders, and Sutter in Calgary who I believe have all been talked about as being in danger. I know hockey is kind of notorious for the way teams cycle through coaches, but this is crazy.

Ron Wilson must feel like he's in bizarro world with all this talk of firing coaches going on and him nowhere near it.

I heard the Ducks are shopping Bobby Ryan right now too.

Yes, and that is just insane. No way do they get equal value no matter who they trade with.

Yes, and that is just insane. No way do they get equal value no matter who they trade with.On the other hand, it's made for a couple of very entertaining days in the hockey internet world.

Seriously though, it's really hard to understand the logic behind this: "We're struggling right now, so let's trade away a 24 year old who's never scored under 30 goals in the NHL and put up 71 points last year." I get that they need depth, but is this really the way to do it?

And you're right! Carlyle out, and Bruce "Haagen-Dazs" Boudreau is in.

I've heard several possible Bobby Ryan and some of them were absolutely hilarious.
