I don't know the guy's name that accepted the award for Modern Family, but he said "Umm" 16 times while doing it  .

I will they would bring back the Cable Ace awards. Cable network shows rock. It would be much more competitve with just Cable shows nominations.

Gwenyth's dress was truly awful on her. You need to have more of a figure to pull it off and not be so fish-like in complexion.

That was one definitely the best award show I've seen this year, and one of the best I've seen in the past few years. By not trying to be young, going with presenters who could actually present and not trying too hard, it felt a lot less stodgy than the Oscars.

I'm at work rifling through pictures (didn't watch the show), and found one with Melissa McCarthy getting "crowned" by Rob Lowe, with all the other nominees in her category around her. What's up with that? How did they do the presentations - did they have all the nominees stand onstage?!

Thanks everyone, it's always better watching these events live here with you (and your snarking).

Looks I like: Gwyneth Paltrow, Lea Michele, Kate Winslet, Sofia Vergara, Hugh Laurie, Randee Heller, Nina Dobrev--my favorite of the night.

Looks I dislike: Heather Morris, Jayma Mays, Amy Poehler, Cat Deeley, Joel McHale, Kerry Washington, Ashton Kutcher (needs to shave and to get a haircut) Elizabeth Moss, Julianna Marguiles and Claire Danes.

A look that horrified me: Heidi Klum--really, Heidi? Really?

Ewww, Gwynnie. I thought it wasn't bad at all, especially for her. She looked good for a change. But then again, I'd only seen pictures and not live TV.

OK, never mind about Paltrow. On close inspection of a pic from yahoo, the dress kinda looks like a black doily.

Agreed! I'm starting to make a point to watch any award show here if at all possible because it's always more fun and usually more entertaining than the actual show. :P

Fun night tonight guys and YAY that Friday Night Lights actually won TWO awards!! I'm celebrating and looking at the bright side...they finally got invited to the big party and they even proved that they belonged there! :respec: :cheer:

My highlight was Margo Martindale: I've seen her in commercials, in bit parts and small feature rolls but she just ran with it in "Justified" and I was so happy to see her win. And yes! for the folks who aren't drop dead gorgeous.

Also the wins for Downton Abbey and Kyle Chandler as FNL was so overlooked every year.

 Thanks Cyn! "I didn't spoil me rotten, you did!"

We watch "Went With the Wind" every year or so just to see the drapes scene.

Heidi wore a dress by Christian Siriano, who I believe won Project Runway, perhaps about two years ago.

Now THAT would have been worth watching.
