I want more Rory singing.
And more Kurt. And more MORE good music.
That was ... cheesy !! at best !

That was quite possibly the most boring episode of Glee ever IMHO.

I remember back when Glee first started and I'd be watching an episode and suddenly look at the clock and think "There's no way it can be over already!" Now I find myself looking at the clock at 20 minutes (or less) into the show thinking "Is it over yet?" Maybe that's a sign that I should move on, but for some reason each week I keep having hope that it might get better. :wall:

It's been so nice not seeing much of Mr. Schue lately.

I'd say it's a mixed blessing. The character of Mr. Schue is pretty annoying. But Matthew Morrison is one of the best male singers the show has, so I miss seeing him perform.

I thought Sue's running for office storyline will last her a season but that ended quickly. I wonder what the writers will do with her now??

And I agree, Mr. Schue can be annoying, and creepy when Matthew Morrison acts over the top happy. Creepy Mr. Schue is creepy... But I hope he gets more story lines now because I am a bit sick of the kids.

I think this show was way better when Will was a central figure. They did a number on his character last year that I didn't really think was believable at all. And they have pretty much made him almost useless this year. It's sad because I loved his story. I liked that he was a bit of a cautionary tale about how your life can end up if you don't take risks and follow your dreams. But then he was also a lesson in how you can find a new dream. He should have been exploring this more with the kids. Plus arguably he is the best triple threat on the show. It's a waste of his talent.

But I agree that Matthew isn't so good in the enthusiastic, "That's great guys" moments. I think he is actually as a person a bit darker than that. I am an actor and I also always found it hard to make happy enthusiasm come off naturally.

But I loved the episode. Loved the homage to the sixites special. And Matthew IMO showed a great eye for direction. I hope he gets to do it more. I actually thought it was one of the most strongly directed shows of the year so far.

Morrison directed this episode, so that may be why he wasn't front and center the entire show.

I liked Rory singing Blue Christmas, but that part had about 10,000 short shots all spliced together. No long sequences from one angle for more than a few seconds.

Just watched last night's episode. Not great, but Lea Michele and Chris Colfer were killing it during the TV special scenes. So perfectly cheesetastic.

God, I miss Kurt being funny.

Lea Michele was pitch perfect in the faux 60's show.

Sue Sylvester reminded me even more than usual of my Crazy Band Director in this episode. It's quite disconcerting.

I really, really want that green dress Lea was wearing when she sang Joni Mitchell.

That black and white xmas show was really cheesy as above people said. And it went on way too long. A minute of it would have been enough!
I am pondering why Ryan hired Damian because he was so charming and outgoing and then made him into a boring stiff character. Go watch a Celtic Thunder tape or watch GP to see what I mean. They have taken all the life out of him!

Agreed. I get that they were trying to make it so bad it was funny...but I found it just plain old bad. The only funny part was Finn's "that would be copyright infringement" line.

I was bound to not really like this episode as most Christmas music annoys the crap out of me. So I will hold out hope that the next one will be better.

I wanted to smack the glee kids - one of their own was homeless, but instead they chose 'glory' over helping the homeless (until the end).

Also... Sam's family didn't have a place to live last season, and he's had to work as a stripper to help pay household bills, but he has his own car?

I have no problem with the Glee kids choosing the tv gig. Sue should've told them the date of the shelter dinner beforehand.
