Bite me.

I would, but you'd probably like it.

This. I pretty much lost interest after Erotica.

Me too, pretty much. I thought she was at her peak from '84 - '91. Moments of brilliance afterwards [like someone said 'Ray of Light'], but nothing that made me :swoon: like during the Blonde Ambition days around '90.

Any news of Madonna reminds me of Guy Ritchie's comment that sex with her was like making love to a piece of gristle.

I used to love her in the 80s - dressed like her and everything. :slinkaway:

I really don't see what the big deal is. She thanked the fan and moved on. Would anyone care if this was anyone other than Madonna? So she can be bitchy -- wasn't that established in the 1980s?

I can live with the hairy armpits, the bitchiness, the stinginess, the vulgarity. But hating hydrangeas? Never! :drama:

You mean when she was living as a starving artist in NYC and did a photoshoot for some extra cast before fame? Are those the only times we witnessed her having hairy armpits because I don't remember seeing any other time she had it.

Anyway, I'm glad this thread has brought up some double standards that usually come up when people discuss Madonna. :D

Oy. Madonna's publicist response made the front page of the WaPo online:

I'm entitled to like whatever I want.

I can't help comparing the way Madonna and Lady Gaga treat their respective fans; Hugs and kisses v. the Finger

I just saw the actual video. She really was obnoxious in her overreaction. The "he obviously doesn't know that" comment just proves how narcissistic she really is. How is it possible that someone might not know she loathes hydrangeas, that should be taught in school, everyone should be required to know Madonna's likes and dislikes. right back at ya Madonna.

Olympic, I completely agree. Lady Gaga has been liberally compared to Madonna. And I suppose that in some ways she is similar. As in, she pushes the envelope and is constantly re-inventing her over the top look. But they are different in two spectacular ways, Lady Gaga can actually sing and she is one of the kindest celebrities to her fans. I am no more a fan of Lady Gaga's music than Madonna's, but I do appreciate Gaga's vocal ability.

If you're a devoted Madonna's fan then you might know. I assume that only devoted fans would be giving her gifts like flowers anyway.

Haven't you received gifts from family members, friends and relatives that made you rolled your eyes behind their back? Madonna just let her public guard down and was caught doing it on video, that's all.

This is old, but a lot of fun to read:

Look who's number 1!

Really, Tiger? I don't carry cash, either, which means I add the tip to my charge card. You should try it.

 at Gwyneth Paltrow's entry.

Or else she'll date your son next

My baby! :yikes:

Of course I have received gifts that are . But, I would never behave the way she did. And I can see an uber fan knowing her favorite flower, but her most loathed flower? Did you know she loathes hydrangeas? A bit much, in my opinion. He, Madonna reserves the right to dislike hydrangeas and I reserve the right to dislike pretentious snobs.

Exactly, that is no excuse.

There's a great story about Barbra Streisand in the comments on that tipping story. i think you can find it if you go back just one page in the comments.

I know that not tipping is considered almost as big a social faux pas as weeing on someone in the US, but maybe some of the celebs didn't tip well because they thought the service was shite. Or are you still supposed to tip if you feel the service isn't up to par?
