Biggest mystery to me is why the Russian female 800m runners always come to the championships with fast times and rarely produce the goods when it accounts.

After Alistair Cragg qualifies for 5000m final, Deirdre Ryan sets national record in high jump of 1.95m to qualify for final too. Good morning for Ireland. :cheer2:

What bright spark scheduled the qualifying for the 4x400 on the same day as the final of the 400m hurdles?

What the hell happened in the 5000m second heat? There is a New Zealander with a time of 13 minutes 57 seconds with a small q beside his name whereas several other athletics with higher times did not qualify.

He was knocked over and Team NZ probably filed a protest which got him through.

The 4x400 looks like it's going to be a tight race. that it's not going to be the final race of the champs.

I would love to know what resources are going into Belgium athletics. They're doing splendid and they're all hot. I didn't know Belgium men were that hot as previously one only could compare them to Kevin Van Der Perren.

Lots of good races tonight by the looks of things.

True Tarabin really a hung baby (he is 19):D, and Thorkildsen is not an automatic qualifer, he is 4th position at the moment.
