GB up to fourth on the medal table thanks to that gold. The team's target of 7 medals now looks very doable.

Oscar Pistorius has potentially qualified for his first final, leading off South Africa's 4x400 relay team and helping it qualify for the event finals with a South African record time.

The less I say about that the better. :shuffle:

Wheeee just caught up on my DVR. If Hannah England had gone just a fraction sooner she might have even pipped Simpson. She was like a steam roller up the final straight  Totally shocking result all round.

Yaaaaaaaaaay Diolch yn fawr iawn Dai Greene. Llongyfarchiadau!!!! I can't believe he won that being so far back going into the final hurdle. Guts and determination. :kickass: Poster boy he may be but he's so down to earth I think he'll cope. He said he deals very well with pressure in his post race interview. A better day for GB thankfully :)

Lashinda Demus finally won the 400 hurdles with the race of her life, 52.47 time, beating defending champion Melaine Walker who was very disappointed afterwards, Natalia Antuykh taking bronze

3 gold for the USA, though they did not medal in one of their traditional events, the menīs 400m hurdles

I find Pistorious very porny :P

It really wasn't drama. Just had a false start and then what appeared to be a second false start. Or problems with the starting gun at least.

I don't know Oscar Pistorius so I can't say if I like him or not. He seems to be a very nice person. I just disagree with him competing at these championships.

I believe the context of my question was wrong. Why do you disagree? Are you one of those who thinks he has a distinct advantage?

I'm not qualified enough to know if he has an advantage or disadvantage. The fact of the matter is that the athletes he is competing against all have legs and he does not. It opens up a whole can of worms. Paralympic sports are divided into a whole range of categories for a very good reason.
