Did you read my post? The rules, if true, state that Anna may NOT replace Alicia because Alicia was not doing bars and that is the only event Anna would be doing. It isn't about time or lack of time. If this rule is true then Martas hands are tied, there is nothing she can do until possibly TF when she can take advantage of the injury rule.

Ugh, then pull Sabrina its not like she's going to bring us in any scores anyways.

This Worlds sucks. :( Somebody call the waaahhhmbulance because I feel like a big baby, but I'm so sick of getting my hopes up for the big competition every year just to be let down before it even freaking starts because Marta cant do her damn job right! At least learn from your mistakes after the 8th time.

The Aussies are in the next Sub. I'm curious to see how Mitchell will score. She's got some big D scores.

I always root for Mitchell, even though her style of gymnastics isn't my favorite. Something about her I just really like...

Romania's bars scores are atrocious.

I bet they're chomping at the bit for Iordache to be eligible.

Porgras fell on her DLO UB dismount. She had a ROUGH day indeed.

Yeah I wasn't getting the whole Romania will win crap. The Romanians would kill to have the US bar workers let alone Russia's or China's.

Don't get me wrong totally possible the Russians/China/US will mess up but still. It will take some mess ups.

Poor Ana Porgras, she had a rough preliminary session though she is still qualifying for the alla around but wont make any event finals

And for Elsa Garcia is the same story four years later, undelivering and she must pray that the team stays in the top 16 in order for Mexico to qualify two gymnasts otherwise she wont have any chance again to go to the olympics since Ana Lago is the first mexican after preliminaries

Just heard that Fabian Hambüchen got the go-ahead to do the AA along with Philip Boy.

And Lauren Mitchell stumbles on the beam.... 14.033!

Will be very unlikely she will be on the final

10-07-2011, 08:18 AM
Well, these preliminaries sort of suck so far.

10-07-2011, 08:23 AM
And no, Mitchell wont qualify as her teammates Monckton and Brennan scored higher

Hope she regroups and focus for her next event, floor exercise

Looks like Lauren might sneak into FX finals. I wish she would upgrade a few of her passes, I don't see her medaling next year without them.

10-07-2011, 08:40 AM
14.391 for Lauren exercise, isn´t a bit low?? and considering is very early in the competition, still it could be enough I think

The differences in vault difficulty are staggering.

The girls contending for medals are doing Amanars. But the ones just hoping to qualify for AA are doing Yurchenko fulls and Tsuk fulls.

I think vault is something that really needs to be overhauled in the next quad. They need to encourage something more than Yurchenkos for one thing.

10-07-2011, 08:46 AM
I'm so sick of Yurchenkos. I hate how Baitovas and Amanars are like the only difficult vault AA-ers are attempting. It's like this code doesn't encourage gymnasts to try different types of vaults unless you're a Vault specialist.

10-07-2011, 08:49 AM
to watch many girls doing a yurchenko full as a ´compulsory´ vault (like in 1992) is just... depressing
