I saw a video of the last time Ponor competed which was at the Rom/GBR friendly meet and trust me, her twisting form was NOT improved. Her triple twist is still the only tucked triple twist I have ever seen and her full in is tucked on the first flip and piked on the second. The only improvement is that her DTY is looking very powerful and the twisting form on it isn't as bad, probably because she has more power and can hold her form.

Her beam is rock solid, she should be contending for the title again. Maybe not this year, not sure what her D score is, but by the Olympics she will be right in it. She simply doesn't wobble.

Ditto to everything.

Apparently Izbaza is out for Romania. Huge blow to them, for sure.

Actually, I take back what I said about Ponor on beam. She will still challenge this year, but by next year I think she will be untouchable if she hits.

Sandra Iszbasa is out of Worlds. It looks like unless Belu and Bitang pull off their special magic, the podium will consist of USA, Russia, and China.

Wasn't expecting that.

That totally weakens the floor and vault lineup.

B&B are probably pissed that they couldn't somehow fake Iordache's age.

I am not surprised they don't show qualifications since they run all day long. Hopefully someone somewhere in the World will show them and we can find them online even if it is after the fact.

Maybe Russian TV will show them? I never did download TV Tekka(sp?) so I'd still have a trial available...if anyone finds out in advance thanks!

I think the ladies all-around will come down to a battle between Viktoria Komova and Jordyn Wieber. As Komova is still getting over her injury problems and is still not back to her best in the vault and in the floor exercise, I think Wieber will probably win it. However, it only took Komova a few weeks to get back up to scratch with her uneven bars and beam routines. Hence, you never know.

Real shame about Aliya Mustafina.

Podium training at Worlds is underway, here are some vids of the US team:
http://www.gymnastike.org/coverage/240242-World-Gymnastics-Championships-Tokyo-2011/video/508242-USA-Alexandra-Raisman

They look awesome. Poor McKayla looks worn out but still in really good form, Gabby looks heaps and bounds better than she ever has (that bar routine would def break a 15!), and I'd say we will not only have the best vault team at this competition but the best floor team as well. I think both Raisman and Wieber have the potential to win floor, and Alicia or McKayla would be strong 3rd scores with hit routines. Getting excited I think this could be an unexpected great Worlds. :cheer2: I hope a video of Anna Li's bar routine surfaces soon.

The US ladies really are the ones to beat. As is Jordyn Wieber. Do you think they could win every gold?!

i don't think they will win uneven bars, in all the other events if things go their way they could win. However there are several contenders in each event and wining the 5 gold medals will be hard. I think Chinese Russians, romanians along Mitchell will factor in on Floor and Beam, Tweddle will definitely be contender on Floor.

We will see about Wieber. Blthye just reported that Komova is back to her old difficulty on floor. And while she only did a DTY in podium training it was reportedly a very well done DTY and she felt based on that DTY Komova just might have her Amanar back.

But every gold, I don't think so on bars and also beam might be difficult too.

Tweddle will definitely be contender on Floor.

Afansyeva on floor as well if she actually were to hit floor in Event Finals. I'm not so sure about the US being the best team on floor. Wieber is very good. Raisman though is a good tumbler but she's got artistry deductions written all over her. There was reports that there were a lot of criticisms about Raisman's scores last year by a big panel, who said that Aly should have gotten artistry deductions. And as for the third sport, well Alicia doesn't seem to have the difficulty and Maroney is inconsistent.

I would rather see Komova win than Wieber. I like Wieber but I dont find she has enough personality or artistry in her gymnastics yet for my liking. If she does win I wont be dissapointed either though. I definitely prefer her to Bross already, even at Bross's best.

I really hope to watch some of this. So as others have said if people know online live streaming. Please tell us.

I am waiting to see how the Chinese will perform as I've adopted them as my favourites. But Japan for the men.

BTW what are we to expect with the men in gymnastics. Whose teams should we be watching and I expect Kohei to take AA but Event Finals who to watch?
