For anyone looking to go, the organizers now have sponsor seats on sale for regular price ($25) for the Sunday show. I got two of them, but in case sasherka can't make it, I might have one available.

Highlights of the show:

- Shawn Sawyer's Mad Hatter was tremendous. Too bad he didn't have his prop hat for those who could not immediately recognize what program he was skating from his shirt
- Lichtman and Copely's Austin Powers FD has a lot of potential in it and the audience immediately picked the references within the choreography

- Gretchen Donlan and Andrew Speroff were exquisite
- Braden Overett did a character piece to Carmen and proved why he is one of the most creative choreographers on the scene.
- Castelli and Shnapir finely exhibited their "high tension wire" acrobatics to the delight of the crowd
- The Protopopovs were back in fine fettle. They really wowed the crowd and got a standing ovation. Amazing.

I'm not quite sure what happened to YuNa in that while her number included a lot of intricate footwork sequences and fine spins, she did not attempt a single jump. The audience was absolutely flummoxed and did not know how to react. I wonder if she is injured or, because of all of the other activities that she was involved in, she had no time to train any jumps

- Rachael Flatt's skating has taken a trremendous turn for the better with very graceful and reserved arms. I was astounded.

-The Shibutanis were absolutely sublime; that is one beautiful FD with incredible synchronization of movement. Their skating was like "buttah"
They stole the show.

Yes, SaSherka still can't make the Sunday show. :)

Back from tonight's show, processing videos.
Wholeheartedly agree with sk9tingfan's review.

I am so happy to hear that. I was hoping her coaching change will have a positive impact on her presentation, and this news is very very exciting. Thank you for your report.

Yuna's Fever gala originally has no jumps:) She had a small injury on her right foot right after Moscow Worlds and she had to jump right into her All that skate spring shows. Since this was her first showcase of Fever, she wanted to perform the gala as smooth as she can with her injury and eliminated jumping passes. But the audience loved it without any jumps so she decided not to include no further jumps since. So it's kinda like first solo ice dancing performance from Yuna;)

Just got back!
Pretty good evening overall. Yu Na was both overwhelming and underwhelming at the same time. I disagree with the "flummoxed" remark above because I didn't feel that at all around my section. No reaction whatsoever to her lack of jumps. I realize that "Fever" isn't exactly the best program to show off your skills, but she wasn't that mesmerizing by her performance alone. The Yu Na factor definitely got the attention though.

It was just bizarre to see her in real life and realize that she's no different from any one of us! One random note is that whenever I watched Yu Na in videos, what always bothered me was her foot position in her layback. Tonight, I saw that her foot was a bit more parallel to the ice so perhaps this is going to change!

I'll admit - I was not a fan of Rachael Flatt by any means before today, but I'm starting to appreciate her more. Perhaps she's improved over the summer, but she was a LOT better than what I had expected to see.

One pairs team (Castelli and Shnapir, I think?) did some moves that really amazed/stunned the audience, especially for those who weren't familiar with figure skating.

It was also great to see and meet the skaters up close at the reception. Yu Na was the last to show (and posed for pictures only, at least for the duration that I was there), but at least she made it! Along with everyone else, she was gracious enough to pose for photos but there was some lack of approachability, and perhaps it was because of the very, very aggressive fan behavior going on, but I ended up saying nothing to her.
I spoke with a few of the skaters, and they were just as I'd imagined them to be. Alex was great about talking to everyone.

I do have to say, as much as I appreciate Emily Hughes and Paul Wylie, I beg of them to not pursue a career in hosting events. Slightly painful...
