There's just no way they could possibly improve on the original, which was perfect as it was.

When i read about this, all I could think was WHY?

Hollywood has run out of ideas, apparently. I mean, a re-make of Footloose? The Karate Kid? Next thing you know they'll be remaking Conan the Barbarian.

But seriously....given the current trends, we can expect a remake of Lord of the Rings in about 15 years.

If you don't like it, don't go to see it. Simple enough.

Remakes are as old as Hollywood itself. Think of it like Broadway - the same plays are performed again and again, with different casts or sets or other changes, but still the same play.

Yes....hence the "but seriously..." that followed that comment.

"I don't want your kingdom....I want your head" cannot match up in terms of sheer cheesy goodness with:

"Conan! What is best in life?"
"To crush your enemies. See them driven befoah you. And heah da lamentation of der wimmen."

But shirtless Jason Momoa > shirtless Arnold

Not having a good feeling about this. The trailer for the Footloose remake looks awful.

Hollywood should probably leave Dirty Dancing alone, but if they're going to make it anyway then how about Derek Hough for the Patrick Swayze's role, or do a sex reversal and cast Jennifer Grey in the Swayze's role :P.

:scream: Why do they feel there is need for that? The movie's still popular isn't it? It's timeless, I'd say. Leave it alone!!

my prediction: it's going to be raunchier with waaaaay less clothing on the females and maybe shirtless males. It'll probably be geared toward tweens with dialogue to match. blech

... or it will surprise me and actually be a good movie. I'll wait for it to go on Netflix :P

I heard something about it possibly being set in the 80s instead of the 60s.
