Don't know about fire drills at Nationals, but there was one in the official hotel at SA in Hartford.

That was when Frank Carroll was seen in shorts.

Too true.

Wasn't there a fire alarm in the middle of the night at 2003 Worlds in Washington, DC? I seem to remember that...

Fire Drill and Fun is an oxymoron :)

Wasn't there a fire alarm in the middle of the night at 2003 Worlds in Washington, DC? Not at my hotel. :P (I wasn't at the skaters' hotel)

I don't think a middle-of-the-night fire drill would be fun anywhere. I can live without seeing Frank Carroll in shorts. :)

That was a fun fire drill!

Walking down nineteen flights of stairs and then standing in the rain wasn't so fun! My legs were burning the next day, and I remember the Hartford Civic Center had a gazillion steps to get up to the concourse. I didn't have the honor of seeing Frank in shorts  but I did almost run into Ryan Bradley as he entered the stairwell.

In shorts? Now that would have been more interesting.

At the end of this article, the writer says that USFS will make a decision by the end of next week.

Thank you! I knew I didn't dream standing outside a hotel for an hour.

I remember going to breakfast or lunch with a bunch of people and we weren't allowed in and literally had nothing but the clothes on our backs. For some reason, none of us were too freaked out because there was no visible smoke or fire. Just annoyed. I think we went and grabbed a drink!

Not as interesting as if he was not wearing shorts (or any other variety of pants). ;)

From another Greensboro news article: http://myfox8.com/2012/05/30/u-s-figure-skating-representatives-tour-greensboro-colliseum/

The U.S.Figure Skating representatives will visit St. Paul on Thursday [today, 5/31] and should make a decision next week on where the 2014 Championships will be held.

Not that it will really make a difference, but it's a beautiful day here in the Twin Cities - sunny and cool (mid 60s) with low humidity.
