Very happy for Vise & Baldwin to get Skate America. I'm sure they are thrilled.

And Surprised that Moore-Towers & Moscovitch as Canadian champions didn't get Skate Canada. Wonder why?

The pairs field in general looks sooooo boring for some reason. I have no interest in seeing Aliona and Robin skate three times; ditto Kavaguti/Smirnov. I wish the Chinese fed would just let Pang/Tong retire. V/T are the only highlight. God I wish Yankowskas/Coughlin hadn't split up.

3. USFSA gives Caroline Zhang the spot at SA?

I'm pretty sure her 4CC bronze last year guaranteed her one spot. Actually, the 1st event is a good place to be with only one spot. If she kicks a&& at SA, ( brief pause for the laughter to subside ) there are 5 opportunities for another fed to replace a withdrawal.

The biggest  is Evan competing. Everyone knows I've been a big defender of his. However, unless he wants to look like a fool, he needs to come READY w/ at least a Quad for this cycle.

Yes, Evan simply MUST have a quad to win.

Wondering the same thing about Volosozhar/Trankov and Cup of Russia...

Given that they are so popular in Canada already, perhaps SC wanted to expose them to different audiences to build up support and momentum during the down years leading up to Sochi?

Her 4CCs bronze was in 2010 so didn't guarantee her anything.

Her 4cc bronze was two seasons ago. I m really shocked :eek:at Caroline getting SA but I guess there wasn't anyone left worthy in the Senior GP ranks (Lam and Siraj are doing JGP again and Forte has basically zero support from USFS).

I can live with the reducement of entries but not with the 3 event rule AT THE SAME TIME. Im really hating seeing S&S and K&S three times while Gerboldt & Enbert and Lawrence & Swiegers who had a kick aass season won't stand a chance to get to the Final. Its understandable though, the top couples also need the money as anyone else and if they are given the opportunity why not take it but I wish it weren't at the expense of the lesser teams. :(

Also SUi&Han only got 1 event. Please Tell me they are NOT doing both JGP & GP again:rolleyes:

Caroline Zhang at SA is a bit surprising. She's always mistreated in her country though. I guess the highest priority for the USFS is to take as many spots as possible. Zhang could be the "better" choice than likes of Gilles, Dobbs. And they are going to invite an even less prominent skater TBD.

If that's the case, then err good luck with that. :shuffle:

No Alissa at SC? But she always rocks there!

I'm really surprised at Caroline Zhang getting a slot. US already has too many talented junior skaters to give them all a chance on the JGP, they could have used that spot to move someone up (Cesario, perhaps? Or Baga?) and given Caroline more time to make necessary changes in her technique.

I'm a little surprised at V/T not being at CoR, but maybe the Russian fed wanted to save the show down between all the teams for the GPF to be followed by Russian nats. Having it for three events in a row would be a little daunting for all concerned. I'd love to see 5 Russian teams in the GPF since I know 2 of them won't make it to Europeans or Worlds. I know that 5 is a long shot, 4 is pretty good odds and 3 are almost a sure bet.

I think it might instead be a vote of confidence in Duhamel/Radford. Hard to say.

That would make a good v-bet.
