As of this morning, Sarah HECKEN (GER) is out of TEB. Again, we assume it is too close to the event to replace her?

Maybe Vannut (if healthy) could replace her? She's only a quick ride on the Eurostar away, which wouldn't be super expensive even at short notice. Who knows if she's healthy, though.

Since the French Fed doesn't have to replace her, they probably won't. :(

If Hecken is to be replaced, we would likely see one of Biryukova, Joshi Helgesson, Vannut, Kexin Zhang, or Min Jung Kwak get the spot. Hmmm.

Tiffany ZAHORSKI / Alexis MIART's names have been crossed out under TEB in the "Entries Ice Dance 2011/12- All 6 Events" document that was updated today (November 7, 2011).

please let it be biryukova!!!

does someone know, why hecken is out of the teb?
i wonder if just needs more time to train, she had a rough preparation for the season and obviously looked not her best at nht and her first gp.

.

i found the answer myself;
she had a checkup on her injured foot and now she needs surgery.
itīs not exactly said, whatīs the problem.
she wants to be back in form in january (i think for nationals). i canīt see any worse scenario, than not sending her to euros and instead some internationally unknown skater(although iīm not her biggest fan).
letīs hope the best.

No way she can recover to competitive form by January after foot surgery. Just doesn't seem realistic at all.

Hopefully somebody can step up the game. I've been following all results this season and sadly didn't see any German female skaters performing consistently.

so its seems like the german fed now has the misery, after letting dytrt fall apart and totally focusing on hecken;
iīm sure they now would give a lot for her still sticking around :lol:

Chock/Bates have been invited to replace Zahorski/Miart according to Evan Bates' tweet:
Got an exciting phone call yesterday. Heading to Paris next week for Trophee Eric Bompard!
ETA: So now Chock/Bates will receive a bye through Pacific Coast Sectionals to Nationals.

Chock/Bates have been invited to replace Zahorski/Miart according to Evan Bates' tweet:
Lichtman/Copely, who last competed at CoC, are the only top 24 SB team without a second assignment, and according to the announcement, the only couples that should be considered above them are comeback skaters and split couples. Even if they had a reason they couldn't make it, the first group in top 75 are:

Kriengkrairut/Giulietti-Schmitt (NHK the week before, but on the same continent and no jet lag issues)
Zahorski/Miart (the ones being replaced)
Gorshkova/Butikov (already assigned there)

Next group:

Coomes/Buckland (CoC, no visa problems)
Yu/Wang (CoC, perhaps visa problems)
Cannuscio/McManus (none, no visa problems)

Unless they've decided Bates is a "comeback" skater, even though he last skated with another partner, plus a split couple, there's nothing in the GP announcement that explains this.

Except:

So I don't believe anything was ever clarified what happens between the 14 and 7 days, but it sounds like it is not absolutely mandatory to replace if its within 14 days, and if its within 7 days, we can pretty much expect there not to be a replacement.
Perhaps this means, "We're at least admitting we can do whatever we want."

Wait, maybe I am not getting something but Chock/Bates are a split couple so it's all according to the rules, no?

Oh, you're right :duh: -- their first assignment was to Skate America as a host pick, so they are at the top of the list to get a "real" assignment.

ETA: That's the wrong answer. They were assigned to Skate Canada. Split couples aren't guaranteed two spots, so they should have dropped off the alternates list after their SC assignment. Hubbell/Donahoe, on the other hand, won Nebelhorn, and they should be added to the bottom of the list after Top 75.

i think the french fed gave chock/bates a host pick rather than inviting a french team.

Technically, the slot was thrown back into the pot and was subject to the alternatives section of the GP Announcement.
