They should be able to fill that spot. It is enough time to find a substitute - he already withdrew yesterday.

With Schultheiss out of NHK, the next in line for replacements that could go (there's already 3 JPN men assigned) are Jialiang Wu, Nan Song, Keegan Messing, and Max Aaron. Or the spot could be left blank again. :o

Nan Song already has 2 events so he's not an option. And with less than 7 days to NHK I dobt the JPN federation will bother to arrange travel arrangements for two unknowns on the elite scene like Messing or Aaron *Sighs".:(

Thanks for the correction re: Nan Song, sorry I was looking at an old list before he got his 2nd assn't.

It shouldn't matter if the Americans to replace are unknown or not - if Adrian withdrew before the 7 day mark, I think the correct thing is to replace him. We'll see...

The mark is 14 days.

The announcement says: "7.6 Replacements
It is mandatory that an Organizing Member replaces any skater/couple who withdraws from the event with an
alternate up to fourteen (14) days prior to the draw for that event. At the seven day mark, consideration will
be given by the ISU Grand Prix Coordination Group to leaving a position vacant because of visa
requirements or unduly high travel costs that would be incurred by the Organizing Member."

So I don't believe anything was ever clarified what happens between the 14 and 7 days, but it sounds like it is not absolutely mandatory to replace if its within 14 days, and if its within 7 days, we can pretty much expect there not to be a replacement. Adrian's withdrawal was perhaps more than 7 days out (announced exactly 7 days out) but its hard to say if that makes any difference.

There are already 3 US guys assigned to NHK -- Mahbanoozadeh, Miner and Mroz.

 oops, didn't think to check that, thanks Sylvia, I guess Tretiakov is next after J. Wu then.

Russian or Chinese nationals need the visa. Unlikely to be invited.

Blah so the spot will be left blank. :(

Not that I will miss seeing Tretiakov :P but it's unfair to him. :(

Hopefully they are going to be replaced because there's enough time.

Kwanfan, who's next in line? ;)

Kwanfan, who's next in line? ;)I think it's Lichtman/Copely, which would help the US Pacific Sectionals event, but with Zahorski/Miart being a host pick, is there another senior French dance team that could be given the assignment? If we were reading the rules correctly, a replacement doesn't need to have a qualifying score.

I don't think they have another Senior team.

Blanc/Bucket have split.

Hope Alexis is recovering OK. They have so much promise.

I think it's just too early for them, given how serious the injury was.

Hopefully they will be ready by Euros.
