:cheer: Excellent news! I hope they'll feel ready in time, but selfishly I'm just excited about getting to see them skate. The more I think about this pairing, the more I think it could be such a great one.

So they are honoring the at least the last two seasons for "comeback skaters" on the alternates list :cheer2:.

(They had conflicting text all over the place on this.)

ETA: Since they're not replacing a host pick, and S/G haven't been assigned to a senior B, they must be taking Samuelson's score from two seasons ago and assigning it to them for GP minimum score qualification.

Dubé/Wolfe are added to TEB.

I was hoping for Gerboldt and Enbert

That would have been more interesting, that's for sure.
Dubé/Wolfe were not really promising so far...

and MAJOROV was added to TEB to replace LYSACEK.
This doesn't make sense in light of the selection of Lafuente at TEB.

If they were taking the top 24 WS into consideration before the Top 75, then in Ladies Joshi Helgesson, 18th in WS, should have been given Laura Lepisto's spot at TEB.

If J. Helgesson were injured, she should have been out of SA this week.

In that case Majorov would have been in the second group of three of the Top 75. The top group of three, assuming Kovalevski is out, is:

Murakami (SA, no conflict with TEB)
Guan (CoC, two weeks before TEB)
Machida (NHK the week before)

The next group is:

Wu (Coc)
Majorov (SC)
Messing (none)

If they're going with to 24 WS in the order of top 24 SB, then the order is:

Majorov (33 SB, 15 WS, SC and now TEB)
Schultheiss (44 SB, 17 WS, NHK)

before they go to Top 75.

It's hard to see from their behavior what their selection rules are.

Dubé/Wolfe are added to TEB.

Theoretically this means that getting a host pick does not affect a skater/team's placement on the alternate list. As part of a split couple, D/W were at the top of the list for non-host picks.

Also Yu/Jin replace Zhang/Wang as host picks for CoC, and they are making the trip from SC the previous week.

I am wondering if perhaps the host federation still does have "a say" about who is selected in the event that a replacement is needed at the last moment. I am sure it is easier to bring in European skaters such as Lafuente and Majorov at the last moment rather than Asian skaters for reasons related to travel arrangements, visas, etc.

Maybe Joshi had some kind of prior commitment that prevented her from doing TEB. Since a lot of ladies above Lafuente (besides Biryukova) are question marks, its not too hard to see how they got down to her after getting past Joshi.

It'll be interesting to see if another men's spot opens up, if it goes to Schultheiss (higher WR but lower SB) or one of the CHN or JPN men with higher SB.

Okay, so why do Dube/Wolfe have two events when Gelbordt/Enbert only have one?
What's the logic behind that? G/E are the better team at this point and far more deserving.

Well one of Dube/Wolfe's spots is at Skate Canada, so that's not the ISU's doing. The other one is. I guess putting the split to new couples at the top of the list is ISU's way of encouraging split pairs and dancers to try again with someone else. I'm fine with it. G/E will survive this.
