Thanks, either he or Armin will get that spot, then. No Razzano.

Also strange - why do Lawrence/Swiegers have only one assignment? They're also GP medalists from last year, and 4CC medalists, and yet they only get SC? I don't understand the reasoning here.

My understanding is that only top 12 at Worlds are guaranteed two spots. Lawrence/Swiegers did not go to Worlds. But I'm sure they'll land a scond spot later.

4. IMO, that's such a tough spot because every US lady competing on the GP (save for Zhang, who's there anyway) has two spots. Maybe they'll do what JSF did last year and give the third spot to someone from another country.

Horrible idea. There's conceivably about 20 different US ladies who would 1) be thrilled to get that spot, and 2) contend for the top 5 or 6. No way in heck should that 3rd spot be given to another country's skater! Let's see who shines at Liberty, Golden West, and Skate Detroit.

I hope the pairs is given to whoever does better among Davis/Leftheris, Donlan/Speroff, Poapst/Knirem, and Andrews/Leduc in summer comps. I think Cain/Reagan and Castelli/Shnapir are possibly high enough to get a second spot as an alternate, but not totally sure on that.

As much as I like Armin, I'd really like to see Keegan Messing and Max Aaron get a spot before he gets 2, provided they are looking strong in summer comps.

Seems to me the extra slot will most likely go to Armin. Messing would be next in line.

US champs:
1 Ryan Bradley (retired)
2 Richard Dornbush (2 slots)
3 Ross Miner (2 slots)
4 Jeremy Abbott (2 slots)
5 Adam Rippon (2 slots)
6 Armin Mahbanoozadeh (1 slot)
7 Brandon Mroz (2 slots)
8 Keegan Messing
9 Jason Brown (JGP?)
10 Douglas Razzano

With only 8 spots per event in Pairs and Dance if you're not top 12 worlds you'll be very lucky to get the 2nd spot. It sucks.

Im really sad for Mura and Machida too, they're very high quality skaters.

Yes, Brown will be on JGP. Nationals has never been the only factor, nor should it be. There's no rule stating that every skater higher placed at Nationals should get 2 events before anyone else gets 1. And Max Aaron was 1st in Junior, so you can't go only by Senior Nats results. I'd say spread the wealth.

Good point. Agreed on Aaron as he has much potential... but as a fan of Armin, I will add that last year he had only one event, and medaled. Two years in a row being right on the edge of getting two assignments; plus a very solid free skate at nationals, would seem to argue well in his favor.

I'm surprised Armin didn't get 2 assignments outright, especially when Mrozzzzz did.

Mroz won a silver at Cup of China last season, is #17 on the SB scores list and #23 in the ISU World Standings.

Mahbanoozadeh is #20 in SB and #31 in WS.

US men have 14 GP spots (including 1 TBD at Skate America), which is 2 more than they got last year initially when there were 12 more spots total (72 reduced to 60 this year).
