He played one of my favorite television policemen. RIP Mr. Falk.

I'll never forget the story he told when he subbed for Regis years ago about having a glass eye when he was little. He was in Little League, had stolen 2nd Base, but had been called out by the Ump. The Manager came out to try and debate the call and in the course of the arguement, the Ump was told by the Manager that he was blind and needed new eyes. Peter said he reached up, took his glass eye out and handed it to the Umpire telling him, "Here you go!!"

Thanks for sharing this.

A great loss, indeed. RIP, Columbo.

I loved him in A Woman Under the Influence. He and Gena Rowlands were perfect together.

Sad news. My condolences to his family.

I loved him as an actor. His role in Colombo reminded me so much of my favorite Uncle Enzo.

RIP Mr. Falk and thanks for giving me many years of delightful television viewing.

I just found out that he got the Oscar for best supporting for Pocketful of Miracles. That has to be up there as my favorite Peter Falk performance...also The Great Race & The In-Law & so many others. He will be missed.

ETA - correction: he didn't win the Oscar, just was nominated (he should have won)
