Oh no, that is sad. So many great performances, it's hard to pick one ... though if I had to pick, it would probably be The Princess Bride.

I'll never forget the story he told when he subbed for Regis years ago about having a glass eye when he was little. He was in Little League, had stolen 2nd Base, but had been called out by the Ump. The Manager came out to try and debate the call and in the course of the arguement, the Ump was told by the Manager that he was blind and needed new eyes. Peter said he reached up, took his glass eye out and handed it to the Umpire telling him, "Here you go!!"


Another Columbo fan here and he was wonderful in The Princess Bride too. The Greats really are leaving us in greater numbers, aren't they. :(

more recently, I think he was adorable in the series of Christmas tv movies where he is Max, the angel who brings people together at Christmas
