View Full Version : Emily Samuelson and Evan Bates have ended their partnership
I just noticed that Icenetwork has posted a gallery of photos titled "Samuelson & Bates: Through the Years" spanning Novice in 2002 to Senior in 2010: http://web.icenetwork.com/gen/photogallery/year_2011/month_06/day_28/cf21107480.html
To add insult to injury...

Well, I enjoyed looking at the photos. The fact that this long-time team split does not negate what they accomplished together in a remarkable career.

Indeed. Let us celebrate their accomplishments and do a bit of mourning too.

You're right, if the rest of the story didn't seem so  to so many people, a lone comment about lifts being easy would probably have gone unnoticed.

Aww, they were so little!
Emily has such a pretty hair color.
Cute pictures! I'm sad that the partnership has ended, but they accomplished alot in their time together.

I loved their 2004 FD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2i1lOIlrgLw). Jamiroquai!

I saw the gallery pics of Charlie and Meryl throwing out the first pitch, and in a related article, they had Evan throwing out the first partner!

Can anyone identify the other skaters in the novice podium pictures?

Thanks, Sylvia.
Wow. The attrition rate between Novice and Seniors is pretty large. I think Summerset is the only other one of these skaters I can recall seeing or hearing about .

I was pretty proud of myself for picking out Shannon Wingle! A couple partners later and without the international experience of S/B or Summerset, but she's competing senior.

Interesting tweet from Emily just about 30 minutes ago.

"What are we all looking for? Someone we just can't ignore" ~James Blunt stuck in my head this morning. :)"
Doesn't this say it all?

I don't care for James Blunt myself, but I was focusing in more on the lyric.
