Nagasu has cancelled 4 event trips to Japan in past two years. Probably IMG didn't offer to her this time. I guess Frank Caroll is determined not to send Nagasu to Japan.

Yes, this Carroll's determination was the cause of Mirai's stress fracture.:slinkaway

Huh? What do you mean by this?

It was irony.:shuffle: Sorry that I didn't explain that more clearly.

What Eris meant is that Carroll stands by the boards with a cattle prod and he makes Mirai practice even if she's in enormous pain from injury.

Oh wait, that's Tom Z!

3 Canadians on the North American team. I am surprised.

I thought JO used to require 2 pros in each team. Did they change the rule? Should be an easy win for JP this year.

i think mirai's been cancelling the events for all good reasons. the event is too close to her gp assignments, she has back to back assignments, injury, and (i think) growth spurt.

i know mirai has a big fan base in japan so i really hope she gets NHK one of these seasons, i know she wants to visit her family there.

I think last year it was 3 Canadians as well.

Well, no offer in the first place, she's not "cancelling" this year. Considering Nagasu's (first) GP in past 2-3 of years, she's not well prepared anyway. Such a vague reason is not persuasive enough to abandon the prize money of at least $10,000 and show fees. Nagasu has never visited Japan after 2008 NHK trophy. She's already lost a lot of fan bases in Japan. I can't think of any other factor than Frank Caroll.

You're correct. It was Jeffrey Buttle, Cynthia Phaneuf and Joannie Rochette. The fourth person on the team was Adam Rippon

Gachinski AND Plushenko! Great combination!

Plushenko vs Chan vs Gachinski vs Takahashi.

Wow. That's a strong battle right there.

Japan Open should be a great opportunity for Plushenko to stretch his legs again. I wouldn't be suprised to see him roll out some good artillery for that.

Can Japan Open be used towards a season's best, since it's ISU sanctioned?

Probably not because the skaters only perform a free skate.

I would rather oppose Chan and Takahashi
and Artur and Evgeni
not all of them opposed to each other
as for now I, personally, don't see reasons to compare Artur and Patrik, for example.
